@beejack agreed. The Marlin bugfix fork is great. But, it's for people who want to edit their own parameters and do more in depth customizing. I enjoy that. I've been trying to stick to Creality specific releases in my comments to make it easier for those just getting into Gcode controllers to have an easy time with updates. I'll be glad to hear about anything new and exciting you find along the way though! Thanks.

I bought my CR-6 SE printer in the fall and had a need to do some out-of-the-box printing straightaway. While it worked for the small footprint objects I was printing, the Z-axis homing and offset was inconsistent so I had to be careful about rechecking between every print. After searching about this phenomenon I came across this forum thread and it seemed to address what was by all accounts a firmware upgrade need. After studying the thread thoroughly I finally got around to doing the firmware upgrade. I have to thank all those who came before me working out the kinks in the "documentation" and process; as they say, "standing on the shoulders of giants". I used the 8 GB SD card (reformatted to 32K to 4K allocation size) that came with the printer to perform the main board firmware update. I managed to scrounge a 4 GB microSD card (also reformatted to 4K) for the display firmware update. Both worked the first time through the upgrade process. As indicated in a number of places, I do wish Creality would be more consistent in labeling the firmware package version information. Now the Z-axis homing and offset are consistent, at least as many times as I rechecked it from various random offsets. I also had to perform a Z-axis bed leveling to take out the skew across the bed. I found a video that indicated loosening one of the Z-axis pulley screws at the top and tweaking the lead screw will adjust the gross Z-axis offset across the center of the plate. The adjustment was a little tedious but doable and I got it very close by eye. It's a little off along the front and back edges of the plate, but now I hope the auto-leveling will have an easier time compensating for fine adjustments. Thanks for al the information and experience provided in this thread.

@Sonics99 said in How to switch to CURA 4.7: Thanks, I was wondering about this and if it was a smooth transition to go to 4.8. Were you just able to do an inplace upgrade? Not ncbob but I had some snags w/ Cura trying to migrate settings, so ended up clearing the Cura user data folder after installation and starting fresh. Have been using 4.8 beta since it dropped and results have been very good.

I had exactly the same problem after upgrading firmware to 2.0.1.3 Red light turns off when I put something in the z-axis sensor (proper), blue light turns on when I put pressure against extruder (proper), trying to return to the home position makes extruder to try and break through the printing bed (improper). The reason was – incorrect firmware. I have installed firmware for motherboard 4.5.3 but mine motherboard, as I found out later, is actually 4.5.2. Reinstalling the proper firmware fixed everything (except some marks in the center of printing bed). Here's how to figure out which motherboard version you have. https://secureservercdn.net/192.169.223.13/i6h.45f.myftpupload.com/wp-content/uploads/wpforo/default_attachments/1609596985-MOBO.png

Ive had the same result on my Chiron. Unfortunately, I think it breaks down whatever they spray it with initially at the factory. No one seems to talk about it and I've only see one guy theorize that they use something similar to Vision Miners nano polymer adhesive, so I think the alcohol gets rid of that making it stick way worse. Since having that experience, I've resorted to simply brushing off the bed/only using water.

@SlackHacky Thanks for taking the time to explain about the M420 code. I too was expecting it to auto bed level the printer , never really read the comment with it. I've been doing an ABL whenever I switch the printer on. Using a card adapter on the E3V2 thats everytime I re-insert the memory card. Knowing this I can now just ABL if swapping memory cards or switching on the first time that day.

So I have just downloaded the new firmware release for 18 Feb 2021. I am applying it to my Ender 3 V2 with 4.2.7 Silent motherboard using a BLTouch. I need the newest DWIN_SET firmware, where should I get that from?

This is the same problem I am having. I have done all the steps requested here on this post, but still have the shifting. I have read about this on other website forums. The Ender 3v2 's that were bought in the last few months of 2020 seem to be having this problem. I purchased mine in November 2020. The only way I can print without layer shift is to prop open the mainboard case to allow for better airflow to cool the mainboard.

A question that has not been answered here still is this: is ABL on without an explicit M420 S1 command ? There's lots of warning in the marlin firmware documentation that a G28 disables auto-bed-leveling and you need to turn it back on afterwards.. i'm getting mixed messages about whether it is required in the preamble G-code for your slicer. Would appreciate advice here from either the community or @admin !

Hello, just wanted to give a small feedback after I have upgraded my printer. Yeah, Creality support member from customer service wrote to me, but I have the feeling like he hasn't read my thread at all. The eMail titel and his answer to this was: "ENDER-3 V2 Nozzle blocked problem Dear customer, Please refer to the tutorial to clean the throat. After cleaning and installing the nozzle, first tighten the nozzle and then relax the nozzle 90 degrees, insert the Teflon tube to the end, and then tighten the nozzle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viiRuI9d9YM&feature=youtu.be The thermistor is damaged and you need to purchase the thermistor to replace it. If there is still a problem after replacing the thermistor through the operation of the previous email, please provide a video for analysis. " Well.... if he would read the thread properly, he would know that the problem is not the nozzle related and that I have written that yes I broke the default thermistor and already ordered a new one. Until I broke the thermistor I was freely printing with PETG with the same nozzle as PETG and it was printing well and I have written about it in this topic so yeah... Even the damaged thermistor was able to print with PETG anyway. I have nevertheless exchanged it without any difference. Thanks to "Sunkione" in the BMG extruder thread (he wrote that he had also problems with Silk PLA on stock hotend and solved it by building in DDE extruder + hotend) I have decided to buy the Phaetus Dragon hotend in addition to the BMG extruder, have reworked the mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4369859 to fit the Dragon hotend with BMG Extruder holder on top and printing with very nice results now, 10 hours prints till now are perfect with PETG, Silk PLA and I have even Ultra Silk PLA hehe, working very well for all of them. I am very satisfied with BMG+Dragon, retracts just 0,8mm for PLA and 1mm for PETG without any stringing at all on the models I am printing for both PETG and PLA. So yeah this was my solution.

@elovins34 I was just told by email that, "People who have completed the survey before July 1st will receive their printers, and you will be able to ship them out at the end of this month." So I guess since we didn't fill out the survey in time, they won't be shipping us printers this month or anytime soon. However, you can go to their website and buy one today and they say it takes 1 to 2 days to process and 3 to 7 days if you live in the Czech Rep, Germany, France, Poland, US, or Mexico. I don't know what's going on, but I think it's wrong. Below is a link to their store so you can see they are processing and shipping new printers to new customers very quickly. https://www.creality3d.shop/products/creality3dcr-6-se-3d-printer?gclid=Cj0KCQjw28T8BRDbARIsAEOMBcx8XaJFfALGka7vSrDEUPK3wpZFliWhPOwAttW5wnIuirgjE66CFbwaAvT-EALw_wcB
