I believe I would be a great pioneer because I’ve been 3D printing for over four and a half years and I’m the type of user who will spend one to two hours tensioning belts or dialing in Z-offset calibration rather than settling for a “good enough” print. I focus on learning from mistakes so I can help others who encounter the same issues. I’m also comfortable sharing both the ups and downs of my experience with complete honesty and providing clear, useful feedback on how the printer could be improved. As a student, I am motivated to test the printer thoroughly while following safety guidelines while documenting my journey so others can learn from it as well.

My first printer had no heated bed, no auto levelling, no auto anything. Paper tape used on the 120x220 bed and this was the bees knees of printers. Got my first Creality printer when the Ender-3 was first released at a remarkably low price for the time, it was a game changer that opened the market up. I have been testing and repairing IT related stuff for over 40 years, being the senior technician at major banks, Government agencies and Universities here in Australia

Reading the responses here, I’ve come to the conclusion that everyone is much better qualified to be a pioneer than I am. Regards Patrick.

I can’t believe I didn’t know about this forum until this latest event - I would have loved to apply to be a pioneer. Congrats to everyone that was chosen!
