Buffer problem CFS

Good morning. I’m having trouble with the CFS retractions on my K1 MAX, they happen to me from the beginning 90% of the time. The problem is that when retracting it gets stuck in the buffer at the beginning of the retraction, the cut is clean and the extruder releases the filament perfectly, however when it is retracting if I push the buffer lever it starts to retract. It is already the 3rd buffer that I test because, even I pull the filament from where the cfs would do it I cannot get it out if I do not do that with the lever of it.

For all rolls?
It may be caused by a problem with the filament caused by the CFS. See my picture. This make the filament start to load but when it get to this point it stops. To check take the roll out and look at the first 5 feet. (1500mm) Drag your finger along the filament to check for this.

You also can look for junk in the buffer. Take it off and if needed take it apart. push filament thru and see if it has issues.

The filament is absolutely perfect, throughout its entire length; there are no pieces of filament in the CFS, the buffer, or the extruder. I have disassembled everything several times.

Going out on a limb here so do not fry me if I misread the evidence.

I think the frequent but not always jam is between the buffer and the extruder. All of the tubing connectors have steel springs in them that I and others have had break and scatter spring steel shrapnel where one would least expect it. Being the 3rd buffer I suspect yours is fine but what about the connections and fittings between the buffer and the extruder. You can disconnect the extruder and then do a filament extrude. It will puke out loads, fault and then pull it all back. If that test jams you have fewer things to look at if it doesn’t, your extruder and fittings are the next targets of investigation. How does well does it load and unload off a spool (no CFS)?

Did you remove the connector for tubes and lay tube from buffer to extruder directly?

I think I’ve found a solution by leaving the PTFE tube loose and not connected to the chain at any point. I’ve never had any problems feeding the filament from the CFS, either when printing or otherwise.
I’m going to need something like this https://makerworld.com/es/models/236002-k1-k1-max-cable-chain-delete#profileId-255051 or https://thangs.com/designer/models/3d-model/1181402

Thank you for your time.

Hi, I used these K1(C-Max) Bowden Tube Guide for Nu-K Riser (et similia) by Lucio Badtaste | Download free STL model | Printables.com and didn’t put any for the last 15cm from the extruder, working very well and it is simple solution.
