Thought I’d post some video, but my son got a printer for Christmas, and other than a couple of models, we haven’t been able to get any to work. We keep changing heat settings, we keep changing Z-offset settings, nothing works! We’ve been at this for weeks. I’d be grateful if someone knows what to do. Here’s the video and photo of what happened the last time we tried it.
The z-offset is too high you aren’t squishing the filament into the bed. I would adjust while it is printing going down in 0.05mm increments. Do this on the printer not in the slicer. It takes practice, you should be able to see the filament getting squished into the bed until it starts to wrinkle, it is then a little close so back it off a bit.
Thank you. I will keep working on the z-offset. I’ve been lowering it, but still not successful.
From the picture I would guess at 0.1-0.15mm closer to the bed, perhaps 0.2mm, I would print a 5 wide skirt and try to dial the offset in on the skirt and hopefully get it right before the main print.
Thank you again. Between your advice, and switching to using Cura, rather than Creality’s app, we’re able to print!
