CFS Identifier

I just had my CFS unit replaced and the new unit installed itself as CFS 2. After looking online it seems that at the moment you cannot manually chage this to the more logical CFS 1. Also when my second unit comes this will install as CFS 3 which does my head in franky and is both illogical and irritating.

It appears that the only current way to fix is to reset the printer which takes time I don’t have. I got a firmware update yesterday which fixed the problem - but not for long. It came back after I loaded a file created before the update and is back to CFS 2.

Can I please ask Creality to change this in the next update so I can make manual edits to the CFS name so that it makes sense. I’d settle for the CFS identifier to be linked to the position of the CFS in the connection chain as a compromise as long as this followed numerical sequence and logic.

Although this thread has aged a bit, I’ll throw my endorsement to this idea. I just got around to rearranging my shop and while controlling the enumerating the CFS number may not be perceived as a top priority the designers overlooked the role that organization plays in multi CFS management environment. If the Creality marketing guys are reading this; guys, this little thing may be a nitpick but it definitely degrades from the enthusiasm one might show the product, it’s just one more thing out of place and one more annoyance the user has to deal with. In short, at some point, you start running out of toes.
