My CFS isn’t reading the RFID tags from the 4th slot. I thought it might have been a bad tag, but I tried different rolls with the same result. The other 3 slots reading with no issues.
Very strange, because the fourth spool share the reader with the third one!

you could see if the antennas are loose or interchange the modules to test them.
The RFID in mine does not work at all.
There are some user reported after flashing the latest firmware there are some issues with the RFID on the CFS Lite. I will suggest to do a factory reset and redo all the calibration see it that works.
If after the factory reset and still no go. Please contact Creality Tech Support for further assistance.

I’ve been back and forth with this issue with creality since the 19th, still haven’t gotten anywhere yet, was working perfectly fine before the latest update, checked all antennas, rolled back firmware, factory reset and ran full calibration with no luck at all, been sending logs constantly as requested, hopefully they come back with something soon and I’ll update on what they say

Ive had a response this morning saying that its a technical error and to wait for the newest update, technical team is currenrly working on it so its now just a waiting game unfortunatly, fingers crossed this new update solves the problem as just before the update I rfid tagged all of my filaments

After the most recent update, I reloaded the RFID rolls and it is now reading them all.

This is crazy. I didn’t even know the lite had RFID readers. I always have to enter the colors like generic. I even started buy non RFID Filament. It’s a little cheaper. Since it should work I want it to now. Do I have to do anything special to turn them on.
It should automatically read them, nothing to turn on or off.
Apparently these were shipped with incomplete software and even the updates are not complete and functional. Mine has never read RFIDs and one “expert” here suggested to perform a “Factory Reset”. which turned on features that were never turned on in the first place. I check for current software before and after I did the reset to confirm tat wasn’t an issue. One thing it enabled was “PA Calibration” which has software that is either not finished or more buggy than a swamp in August. After performing a nozzle wipe, it then does this calibration where the build plate goes back and forth while the unit continuously extrudes filament, piling it up until it is so high it smooshes it all over the bottom side of the print head and then runs the printhead around the build plate stringing a mess everywhere until it eventually starts to print, often doing random actions including one time the nozzle crashed into the build plate and gouged around into it for a while….so I would avoid doing a Factory Reset for any issue. It took a while but I finally found two things it enabled that do nothing but cause malfunctions, damage and waste time and filament and got them turned off so I am at least back where I started.
Meanwhile, I can’t even get filament orders to show up on my account so I can get the promised reward points. They have been working on that for 3 weeks and keep asking me to questions and telling me they fixed it…but they didn’t, so I have little confidence they will be able to help with a malfunctioning machine, so I have just been living with it and manually entering what filament is where in my CFS Lite.
update;
a new firmware revision showed as available on mine this morning which I performed. My CFS lite now reads the RFID tags as advertised. Performing a couple prints to test and everything else still seem s to work OK.
I’m still flabbergasted that such a marketable product would be sent to consumers with some of it’s main touted features non functional. Really makes me leery to but anything else here.
