Hello everyone, I’m getting a CM2789 error on my Creality Hi printer, and then it is followed by an XS2001 error. I haven’t been able to solve it, and it’s driving me crazy. Could anyone please help?
Hi, the XS2001 error is probably a secondary error rather than a separate problem. According to Creality’s troubleshooting guide, XS2001 is a general system error caused by the error that occurred immediately before it, so CM2789 is the one that needs to be investigated.
On the Creality Hi, CM2789 usually means that the motor detected abnormal resistance, often while the printer is moving to cut the filament.
I would check the following:

Make sure the camera privacy cover is fully open/down and is not protruding into the X-axis movement path. A partially closed camera cover can be hit by the printhead when it moves to the right to activate the cutter.

Turn the printer off and check whether the toolhead cable or PTFE tube is trapped behind or against the gantry.

Manually press the filament cutter lever and make sure it returns freely to its original position.

Check for filament stuck inside the extruder, unload the filament and reload it.

Check and tighten the screw on the right-side X-axis end cap.

Restart the printer and run the complete self-check again.
Could you also tell us when the CM2789 appears: during startup, self-check, filament loading/unloading, cutting, or during printing? A photo of the complete error message or a short video would help identify which movement is being blocked.
If it still happens after these checks, export the printer logs before contacting Creality support, since the XS2001 troubleshooting guide specifically recommends checking the previous error and exporting the logs.
The extruder’s light isn’t turning on.I think the error is probably caused by the extruder’s light not turning on.
The issue is still ongoing.
That is an important clue. The light itself probably is not causing the CM2789 error, but both problems may have the same cause, such as a loose or damaged toolhead cable or connector.
Turn the printer completely off and unplug it before opening the toolhead. Do not connect or disconnect any cables while the printer is powered on.
Remove the toolhead cover and carefully check:

The main toolhead/hotend adapter cable connection.

The extruder motor connector.
-
The small filament detector and cutter sensor cables.
-
Whether any connector is partially inserted, loose or has bent pins.

Whether any cable is pinched, cut or damaged behind the extruder.
There is a small cable-routing groove behind the extruder. Make sure the small sensor cable is correctly positioned inside this groove and is not trapped between the extruder and the toolhead.
Disconnect and firmly reconnect the plugs, without forcing them, then reassemble the toolhead and restart the printer.
If the light still does not turn on, the problem may be the hotend adapter cable, the toolhead board or its power connection. In that case, I would export the printer logs and contact Creality support, mentioning that the toolhead light is also completely off.
Also, which light do you mean: the white toolhead light or the small blue filament sensor light?
I m talking about the Creality light that’s on the print head.
there are 2 lights in the printhead, one is white and iluminates the creality logo, the other is blue and is the filament sensor, it’s on when you put the filament, if you put filament on the extruder and the blue light didn’t turned on, even if the filament is all the way in, then your sensor is broken. it’s very cheap to buy. the cerality logo light has nothing to do, u can turn it on or off on the printer configs.
We need to know if the error occurs in single-color mode without CFS, or if it only happens in multi-color mode or single-color mode with CFS; if it only happens with CFS, it is a buffer issue.
The blue light on the extruder is on I’ve attached a video below regarding the issue.
Even if I connect the CFS, it doesn’t see the CFS.
show me the top of the printhead, where the filament goes in, also shut down the printer, move the bed all the way to the front, and take out the 2 plastic tabs that hide the z wires, show us how the wires look, also, take out the plastic cover behind the x axis (axis of the print head), and show us also the status of that wires
also, the printhead and the bed moves normally when u manually move? with the printer off, or it gives u some resistance?

Everything look fine, wires and else, there is filament on the extruder? i cant see cause of the ptfe tube, because the blue light is on, indicating there is filament inside
I loaded the filament from the spool into the extruder. I can’t figure out where the problem is.
i saw several thing, you dont have 2789 error, yu have 2798 error, on Servo motor X and Y, i want you to try this first, touch this on the screen to unlock the printer, in this menu
once its unlocked, gently move the printhead, if its unlocked u will be able to move it, also the bed, if u succefully unlocked the bed and the printhead and u can move it, try again to make the printer to home.
If none of this worked i think u need to calibrate the servomotors on fluid or try a factory reset also read this:
If the error is CM2798 on a Creality Hi, it means the printer cannot initialize the motor for one of the axes (X or Y). The XS2001 error usually appears subsequently because the system enters an error state.
I recommend following this order, from simplest to most complex:
Turn off the printer completely.
Unplug it from the power source for 2 or 3 minutes.
Turn it back on.
Move the X and Y axes while the printer is off.
The print head should slide smoothly from left to right.
The bed should move smoothly back and forth.
If either one binds or sticks, there is a mechanical issue.
Check the connectors.
Disconnect the power.
Verify that the X-motor and Y-motor cables are securely connected.
Also, check the ribbon cable leading to the print head and the mainboard connectors if you feel comfortable opening the bottom cover.
Inspect the cables.
Look for cuts, pinch points, or damaged wires, especially where the cable harness flexes constantly.
Check the belts.
They should be neither extremely tight nor completely loose.
If an axis is blocked by an overly tight belt, the motor may fail to initialize.
Try performing a “Home” (Auto Home) operation.
If the error appears when the printer attempts to move an axis, observe which one fails to move.
If the X-axis doesn’t move, the problem is likely with the X-motor or its cable.
If the Y-axis doesn’t move, check the Y-motor.
Firmware.
If the problem started right after an update, reinstalling the firmware might fix it.
If the problem persists…
The most common causes are:
Loose motor cable.
Internally broken motor cable.
Defective stepper motor (less common).
Damaged motor driver on the mainboard.
Mainboard failure.
I unlocked the printer, and I can move it by hand very easily. However, when I press the “Home” button to move it to its starting position, I get the XS2001 error.
