creality hi issues

I recently bought a creality hi with CFS (second hand so no warranty) and it was working fine it stopped mid print. Now whenever I try and start a print with the CFS I get the “spool holder filament in use” error. I have cleaned out the nozzle and removed all filament from the printer and CFS and still get the error. The second error in the post in the error I get when I try to extrude filament via the printer menu. Any help would be much apricated, I have no idea what is causing this.

shut down the macchine, disconnect the cfs unit (never plug or unplug the cfs unit while the machine is on), now turn on the machine and try printing wihtout the cfs unit connected, print some things with only a spool holder, then extrude de filament, shut down the machine, connect the cfs unit. Turn on the machine and try printing with the cfs unit. if the error persist. shut down the machine, disconnect the cfs unit. Turn on the machine and Do a factory reset. Then update your machine to the last firmware, do the full auto detect calibration thing. shut down the machine, connect the cfs unit, turn on the machine and try printing with it.

I have reset the printer however I still cannot complete the self check as I get this error. I have fully replaced the nozzle and have checked the extruder is clear by running filament through it before installing the new nozzle. It is worth noting that the blue light at the top that usually turns on when there is filament in the extruder is not on.

Update: my SECOND creality hi now has the same issue. It stopped printing mid print due to a filament jam in the extruder so I cleared the jam and tried to start printing again but I now run into the exact same issue as with the other printer.

your filament sensors are broken i guess

The extruder has a feed port, feed gears, and a filament cutter before shoving the filament into the nozzle; the filament sensor is somewhere in that portion. When I’ve had jams, they required disassembling the extruder itself (see Creality’s helpful videos) so that I could remove a blob of plastic that couldn’t be pushed through the nozzle to be melted. One last tip before disassembly: be sure to cut out any hot melt glue holding cable connectors together since you don’t want to destroy them.
