There isn’t one, but there should be, it is in most other slicers, kind of a fundamental thing if you are evolving design ideas.
yep
with other softwares there is typically a wishlist or some way to speak with the developers’ team: as told I’m new here, so I ask you if you know any mean to get in touch with them
thanks
Hopefully user Optimus the employee is reading this thread and feeding it back.
Optimus: you are our hope
(and I think the function was there in an earlier version, so maybe just uncommenting some code lines…)
When will the setting for the 0.2 mm nozzle for the K1C be available?
Notice how responsive that Creality is to queries?
I used the settings from K2Plus. As a result, if you don’t bother, you need to reduce the line width setting by about half.

So this is interesting and I don’t know if it’s realted, but after installing the update, when I go to “Save as Project”, rather than it defaulting to Crealities project files, .cxprj, it always defaults to .3mf files.
Nothing I can do will make the software default to .cxprj.
I wonder if the “bug fix” for .3mf file may have introduced this bug.
???
Hi BlondieSL, the default file format is currently set to .3mf. Given the widespread use and convenience of the .3mf format, as well as user feedback, we have chosen this as the default option.
Ok, makes sense. Thanks.
Just to confirm, does the .3mf format save our projects with all settings the same as the .cxprj format does?
I ohpe that the developers will make an optoin for the end-users to choose which format the use as the “default.”
I can see that .3mf being default as a conflict for those who still use Cura for, perhaps, other, older printers.
I know that some of us like to be able to just double click a project file in Windows Explorer and when it’s .3mf, Cura opens up.
I did set my types for Creality Print to open, in windows, with file type, to .cxprj.
Yes, I know that when saving as project, one can select .cxprj all the time, but now that’s an extra step.
Now I’m curiou how many Cura users are going to like this change… hmmmm
You can tell Windows what program you want to open a specific file type. I know when I installed Creality_Print-v5.1.6.10470-win64-Release.exe, it defaulted to opening the .3mf files. However, since I use Orca as well, I have .STL and .3mf files open in Microsoft’s 3D Builder app for viewing. If I want to print them with Orca or Creality Print, I just import them.
Yup! I sure know how it works. LOL
Long story short, for years, I had Cura open for .3mf files and .stl file.
When I got my 2, Ender 3 V3 Plus printers, I only changed the type for .stl to load CrealPrint. I left .3mf for Cura (just in case I needed my older projects).
So for me, personally, it would be more of a pain now to start using .3mf for CrealPrint, because I’d then have to change the type to load CrealPrint for them.
Sure, easy to do, but this now creates different steps should I need to load some older .3mf Cura project in Cura. I’d have to do a bunch more clicks.
That’s why, as a programmer, I think that it would be a good idea to at least add an option in CrealPrint (next ver) to have an option in settings so that we can choose the default format to save projects in.
Just an idea.
We’ll see how this plays out when others might find it a bit of a pain.
And don’t get me wrong, I really like CrealPrint 5.1.xx. I do miss the layout of Cura, but I’m used to it now.
Well, you only have to do those steps once to set the default application for a specific file extension. I guess I’m missing something, since once you set Cura to handle .3mf files, it’ll default to them. Of course, you can still load them into Creality Print, I do that all the time.
I am probably not explaining it well.
I’m in programmer mode right now, as I type this. LOL
So in that mode, I’m seeing that this could be an issue for some.
Not the changing types, but that by having CrealPrint now making .3mf the “default”, either a person has to constantly click the down arrow to select the original format or leave it at .3mf.
The point is, as it was with 5.1.14 (default cxprj) then one can tell windows to auto load CrealPrint when cxprj double clicked or load Cura when .3mf clicked.
Now, if one switches from .cxprj to .3mf for CrealPrint, then one has to do the right click and “open with” ORRRRR open Cura, for example and then drag the “Cura project” over to Cura.
Sure it’s easy, but I’m into making things as easy as possible with less clicking and messing around. LOL
Anyway, not a real issue… just difficult for me to put into words that others may understand.
Well… yes. If you have two programs that are both going to open the same file extension at times, you can’t totally automate it by just double-clicking on the file, that’s kinda self-evident.
Why can’t you continue to save CXPRJ files for Creality Print and use the 3mf files for Cura?
And that is exactly what I’m doing.
This is what I mean by I’m not very good at explaining things. LOL
That’s why I returned to 5.1.14, as its defaul is CXPRJ.
If I upgrade again, to .16, then sure, I can still save to CSPRJ, but I’d ALWAYS have to click the type to select that format before saving… every single time.
Again, as a programmer, I can see the use of having an option in settings for a n individual to select their “default” and avoid constantly having to select it every time.
When I design software and code, I always think about the logic of what is required. I’m actually coding that way, right now, with a project that I’m working on.
Well, I’m a software designer, but I guess I don’t spend quite that much time thinking about stuff like this. I guess when you’re working on an aerospace project that’s going to take a couple years, you think in different terms.
Hello everybody: just to know if there is any follow-up to the feature request for the “Reload Model” function. We were mentioning that a couple months ago. I saw and installed recent releases but that did not appear…
I was also wondering if there is an official wish-list for features and somebody pointed me to @Optimus to possibly submit the request
Being now close to Christmas, I think maybe it is the right time for the wish-list
.
Ciao and thanks for any help/support
