Ender 3 KE - Print Status & Temp Not Updating After Print Starts

Hey everyone,

I’m brand new to 3D printing, and I just got my Ender 3 V3 KE on Sunday. Everything was working perfectly up until midday today. No settings or hardware changes, but suddenly, my print status and temperature readings stop updating once the printer starts printing.

What’s Happening:

  • When the printer is idle, everything works fine—temps show correctly, camera works, and I can monitor everything from the Nebula screen, Creality Print on my PC, and the mobile app.
  • I send a file to print, and it starts successfully (no failed prints).
  • As soon as the printer starts heating up, temperature readings freeze, and the print progress stops updating on Nebula, the PC, and the app.
  • The print still inishes successfully, but I have no way of tracking the status or time remaining.
  • The camera works throughout the print, so the PC is still connected—it’s just the temp and progress that drop.

What I’ve Tried So Far:

  • Factory reset the printer through Nebula pad.
  • Rolled back the printer’s firmware to the original version (1.1.0.14).
  • Updated the firmware back to the latest version (1.1.0.15).
  • Reinstalled Creality Print (tried both v6.0 and v5.1) same results.
  • Checked all cables and connections inside and out—everything is tight and secure.
  • Sent a print via USB instead of WLAN (same issue).
  • Tried a different WiFi network (still no change).

Symptom When Using USB:

  • When printing from USB, Nebula repeatedly flashes a message saying a USB drive was inserted (every few seconds), but the print continues.

At this point, I’m at a loss. I can consitently recreate the issue but im at a loss for a resolution. Any ideas? Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Gio1982,

That rules out a lot of things I would have asked about "especially if CP version 6 was involved).

As I actually have the v3SE and use a Sonic pad I am at a loss and trust that another member will assist.

But I must ask,"when you say you updated/downtated the printers firmware (downtated is obviously not a real word but you get the drift ?)… Is there firmware available to try for the Nebula pad ?

Cheers.

Do you normally send files by USB? I’ve never used USB on my V3KE only WiFi, that is more because of location of the printer. Have you tried another slicer, like Orca, to see if that gives the same timing issues?

ugh, my apologies it was late, i was tired and I missed that. I meant to say downgraded but really should have said rolled back. thanks for the catch on that.

done usb and wifi with no issues until today. havent tried another slicer yet. but I will try that so thanks!!
