Extruder not feeding in filament

Hello everyone!

I have an Ender 3 v3 KE and had replaced the extruder back in November. I’ve been very careful in how I extrude and retract so as not to strip the gears but about a week ago it stopped feeding in filament mid-print. I first replaced the nozzle thinking it was clogged but it didn’t solve it and realized that when I went to extrude the filament there was no movement whatsoever. The motor was obviously moving and I could see the top gear turning but it didn’t seem to move the filament at all. I had tried adjusting the tension as well and that didn’t seem to do anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or would I need to replace the extruder again? It seems way too early to be looking at replacing it but if the teeth on the gears might have already worn down I’m not sure what else I should do.

I appreciate any suggestions anyone can offer!

Have you taken the extruder apart to check that there isn’t a bit of filament stuck in there somewhere also you could check the tensioner to see if it is gripping.

The extruder seems clean and I tried tightening the tensioner but that didn’t seem to help. I’m wondering if the teeth on the gears in the extruder may have gone bad.
