Extruding backed up

I’m going to do my best to explain what happened with my HI. I had started a simple print job using PLA prior to leaving to run some errands. When I came back. The silicon cover over the ceramic nozzle house was filled with filament and pushed completely off the housing and the entire area around the house was filled with melted filament. This extruding caused the temperature sensor wires to be pulled off of the ceramic housing. The printer is barely over a month old and I’m not even sure how something like this would happen. Trying to figure out how to get a replacement nozzle assembly as this seems like a manufacture defect. Please assist if possible.

It’s called a “Blob of Death”. Not a manufacturer defect - it happens on all printers from time to time due to the part coming loose from the print bed and wrapping around the nozzle so new filament just keeps building up around it until you stop the print. It’s always best to check the first layer or so when you start a new job to make sure it’s adhering properly.

To remove the blob, I use a heat gun and go slowly being careful of the wires. As you say the wire is already broken, replace the hotend and you’ll be good to print again.
