Hi all, I just got my Creality Falcon A1 10w unit a couple of weeks ago and it works fine with Lightburn, I can see the camera in my Mac’s PhotoBooth, but the unit doesn’t appear in the Creality Design Space software and if I try to manually add, it only gives me the option to add the A1 Pro. I tried the chatbot in the software itself for support but it just kept telling me to check that I have the latest version and try another USB cable (neither of these is the issue). Is there some firmware update or something I need to do in order to get my Falcon A1 to show up in the software?
You have to close Lightburn and any other software that could claim it. Only one device can claim the COM port as which the laser shows to the computer at a time.
Yes, I’ve done that, also closed Lightburn, rebooted Mac, tried to connect to Falcon Design. No joy. I noticed last night that, despite receiving my unit less than two weeks ago, it still has the 1.0 firmware on it. I’ll try updating firmware via USB and see if that solves the issue.
Wow! After the upgrade, I’m still unable to connect to Falcon Design Space, but now Lightburn is failing to complete any project that has more than one layer! Awesome service Creality! Way to go (I’m being sarcastic in case that isn’t coming through).
I guess this is why everyone said to buy XTool, Creality isn’t really committed to the Laser market beyond the DIY crowd, thus the FANTASTIC support.
