Falcon A1 cuts a parallelogram instead of a rectangle

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my Creality Falcon A1.

When I try to cut a simple rectangle, the result is not perfectly rectangular but slightly becomes a parallelogram. The deviation is not very large — it is up to about 3 mm — but it is enough to cause problems when precise cuts are required.

The sides that should be perfectly perpendicular are slightly angled.

I checked the project directly in Falcon Design Space, and the rectangle in the design is correct, so I think the problem may be related to the machine rather than the file.

What could be causing this?

Could it be related to:

  • the tension of the XY belts;

  • the gantry not being perfectly square;

  • a loose pulley or screw;

  • another alignment issue specific to the Falcon A1?

I would especially like to know how I can check whether the Falcon A1 gantry is perfectly square and how to correct it if necessary.

If anyone has experienced the same problem with a Falcon A1, I would really appreciate any advice, a procedure, or a video specifically for this model showing how to fix it.

The deviation may seem small, but for accurate cutting even a few millimeters make a significant difference.

Thank you!

Hi

I to had skew error with my Falcon A1 Pro similar to what you are experiencing.

My first reaction to the problem was to contact ‘support@crealityfalcon.com’, who I found to be very helpful, suggesting it may be a worn belt problem and they immediately despatched a new set of belts, under warranty. These I fitted following the instructions, setting the tension on each belt equally, only to find that it made no difference.

As my skew was to the right, see photo of test cut, I decided to exert more tension on the right belt tensioner and less on the left, again see photos attached.

Now, for me, this corrected the skew to a state where if I cut a square, I could turn the blank through any angle, 90,180 or 270 and the blank would fit back into the hole. Before, this was not possible.

So, what I suggest is try adjusting your belt tension, biasing it towards the lean of the skew. Bearing in mind, if you do not have enough adjustment, you may have pull the belt tighter at the other end, at the laser head, by slacking of the belt pressure plate and moving it tighter by one tooth on the belt.

Hope this is of some help, it worked for me.

Good luck
