ey everyone,
I recently updated my Creality K1C to the latest 1.3.5.22 firmware release. Right after the update, I started noticing distinct Z-banding / Z-wobble (horizontal banding along the Z-axis) on prints that used to come out clean before.
Troubleshooting already done:
-
Full Self-Test / Auto-Inspection: Reran the complete calibration suite (Input Shaping, vibration tests, self-diagnostics). -
Auto Bed Leveling (ABL): Fully recalibrated the mesh and bed leveling. -
Slicer Settings: Kept my tested, working slicer profiles completely identical to pre-update conditions. -
Mechanical Check: Lead screws, belts, Z-rods, and lubrication are all clean, secure, and properly tuned.
Even though all calibrations finish successfully and the machine reports no errors, the Z-banding remains noticeably present on smooth vertical walls.
Questions for the community:
-
Has anyone else running firmware 1.3.5.22 experienced sudden print quality degradation, PID/thermal fluctuation issues, or weird Z-axis motor stepping?
-
Did this firmware update alter underlying Klipper/Creality OS settings related to acceleration, pressure advance, or Z-stepper current?
-
Would you recommend rolling back to the previous firmware (1.3.5.19), or is there a known workaround/fix for this release?
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
