The issue of constantly changing IP Address by my K3 V3 KE is still a pain. I understand the suggestion of setting a fixed IP at my router but that’s not currently an option. I can set the IP in the print software by editing the deviceInfo.json file but who wants to do that each time? This never happened to me before the last firmware 1.0.17 and software update to V7. Who continues to have that problem?
It’s your router that assigns the IP not the printer, most likely after the update your router thinks it’s a new device and gave it a new IP, you just need to enter its config page - usually something like 192.168.1.1 - and set a fix IP for it
I understand the router issue, my point is this never happened before updating to the latest printer firmware.
Well I can’t say for sure why it happened now, it can happen at any time really as IPs are assigned by the router, it’s possible that after the firmware update when the printer tried to reconnect to the router it thought it was a new device, that’s why you set fixed IPs on the router, as the MAC address of the device gets tied to an IP - the MAC address of the device does not change so you never loose the assignation
