My solution to a very hot running extruder motor has been to reduce motor current settings, but also to add a heatsink-fan combination the rear of the extruder motor. This additional hardware takes up 20mm of available Y-axis movement.
By adjusting, printer.cfg in the Klipper firmware, position_max to 270 my hope was that the printer would just avoid the back of the print bed.
The printer now, however, reports “y axis print coordinates out of range”.
I have adjusted the bed-size in my slicer (Orca Slicer) but cannot shake this error.
Any advice?
