So, I have been printing PETG and it seems when my extruder gets clogged my printer stops abruptly and shuts off. Light turns off, fans still running and the screen freezes. The only way to resume is to shut the printer on and off and then I can resume or cancel the print. No errors/error message. Has anyone else seen this??? So strange…
At work we are using a K1 Max, it has over 1200 printing hours… mainly printing with PLA-CF and occasionally PETG. Never had any clog, after changing filament always make sure the “old” material is out of the nozzle (use the extrude option in menu, if you print PLA on 210 and PETG on 230, set the temperature to 240 to make sure the “old” material can be pushed through the nozzle)…
The only parts we had to replace were the steel sheet and the run-out sensor (sensor malfunction because the spring inside was no longer on its position). Opened the sensor and was able to put spring back…
Update - I changed some settings for PETG printing and stopped the clogging.
However, my printer still shuts down and freezes in the middle of prints. The only way to reset the printer is to manually shut off the switch and flip it back on. Has anyone else had this issue?
