So i’m finally buying my own printer and have narrowed it down to the K1C and the K2 since there’s a huge sale on the creality website. After some research it seems that the k2 should be better even though on the creality website it’s a 100 bucks cheaper (without discount). But i want some other people’s opinions.

It would kind of depend on the size of the models you plan to print.
The K1C has a build volume of 220 × 220 × 250 mm, while the K2 is larger at 260 × 260 × 260 mm. If you regularly print larger models, the K2 would be the better choice.
The K2 is also the easier option for multi color printing. It works directly with Creality’s standard CFS. One CFS holds four filaments, and you can connect up to four CFS units for printing with as many as 16 colors.
The K1C uses the newer CFS-C system. I do not have firsthand experience with it, but it requires compatible firmware along with an external filament cutter and buffer. Only one CFS-C unit is supported, so it is limited to four colors.
Neither the K1C or the standard K2 has an active heated chamber. They are enclosed printers, so heat from the bed can warm the chamber naturally, but there is no dedicated chamber heater or controlled chamber-temperature setting.
The K2 Pro and K2 Plus do have active chamber heating and can maintain a chamber temperature of up to 60°C.
Between the K1C and the standard K2, I would base your decision mainly on the build size you need and whether you plan to use multi color printing. The K2 offers more build space and a better upgrade path for multiple CFS units.
I’m buying in the EU and both seem to be in stock. I’m obsessed with getting the absolute best for my money so that’s why i’m asking. I know the K1C is a great printer because my friend has been using one for a while now, but i’m just curious if i go for the K2 are there any downsides over the K1C other than carbon fiber support. If it comes down to mostly the print volume then i think i may go for the K2.
The reason the K1C is showing CF support is that the smaller build chamber can hold the passive heat from the build plate better than a larger chamber of the others.
You can actually print CF with the K2 (passive heat also) but it might take a little longer to get the chamber up to the required temp because of the larger chamber.
The main difference would be color limit and chamber size and maybe a couple other things like filters and FOC server motors.
If that’s the only difference, I think i will go for the K2. My use case could benefit from the extra print volume since i do more engineering, CAD oriented stuff. I don’t really care about the multi color printing although i guess it’s a nice to have for the future. Thanks a lot for the help and the warm welcome.
