K2 Pro will print from spool, but hangs at 300C doing nothing when trying to print from CFS

How did you get it to download it keeps saying the file is corrupt and will the cfs work still afterwards

I’m assuming you’re talking about updating the firmware from a USB stick? I had problems there until I formatted the stick correctly. I think they say format in FAT32 or exFAT? Then I just stuck it in the side of the machine and rebooted. It did all the work for me from there.

Yes the CFS will work properly again. Download it to a USB like Justin said FAT32 or ExFAT & it should be fine. Maybe do a scan of your USB stick. Once you put it in the machine it is pretty self explanatory. Just turn off automatic updates.

it is installed automatically

I was experiencing this exact same issue on 1.1.0.94 and had to stay on 1.1.0.66. Followed your steps to downgrade however I just came across this reddit post: K2 PRO firmware 1.1.0.94 issues : r/Creality_k2 where they said Creality Support told them:

UPDATE: Contacted support and they quickly got back to me with a solution. I connected to the printer via the browser using the IP and port 4408.

I then went into config, opened and edited printer_params.cfg.

The fix is to change

variable_nozzle_temp: 300 to 320

The K2 Pro firmware expects the nozzle to be capable of reaching 320°C.
with the max set to only 300°C, it thinks the hotend is damaged or improperly configured and refuses to print.

This was the ultimate fix for me for firmware 1.1.0.94

Just wanted to share.

for a newbie can you walk me through a little more step by step how you did this?

Thx

What I eventually did was modify my printer.cfg file. When you load a nylon filament, the default settings say that filament’s top end temp is 320c. When the printer knows you have loaded that filament, anytime you go to load a different filament, it tries to heat that nozzle to 320 but the system only allows 300, so it just hangs. When it’s time to change filaments, manually heat the nozzle to 300. Then manually retract the filament. Don’t hit the “retract” option. Just press the arrow button up that retracts it manually from the extruder. Keep pressing this until you can pull the filament out from the back. Now load in some PLA or lower temp filament. Push it all the way into the extruder. You still have nylon in that nozzle so keep it at 300C. Load in something like PLA and start manually extruding it with the other down arrow on the LCD screen. I just keep pressing it to flush all of the nylon out of the nozzle and until I see the color change to whatever PLA I’m loading.

These are the steps I take now when I want to print with nylon then switch back to my PLA and PETG loaded CFS.
