I’m afraid to dig in to the head and take it apart not knowing what I’m doing. I did remove the tip and found that it was not clogged but I can’t figure out what’s holding it or how to release it in the head, can someone help me diagnose this?

I’m afraid

it looks like you have filament on your extruder, if you dont want to dig in watching videos of creality, you can give it to some one who understand it and will help you, but if you want to do it by your self, you gotta watch some videos and learn, then proced with caution, but dont do anything by yourself, always learn before

Don’t be afraid. I was too but it’s really not so bad once you have taken the head apart for the first time. Just take your time and mark all the screws you take out clearly so you know where to put them back. As ChrisDD96 suggests watch the videos, they are very informative and will guide you clearly.

Are you sure you do not have any broken filament inside the extruder assembly? You can check this by unscrewing the nozzle and feeding some filament into the top of the extruder (or use your nozzle cleaning poker thing) and check to see if it can get out through the bottom of where the nozzle screws into. If there is anything inside the extruder blocking your filament path down to the nozzle you will need to remove and open the extruder up to check inside. Sounds daunting but is really easy. Just watch the video for help.
