At 57, I accidentally became a 3D printing addict.
I thought I was starting a small hobby. You know… something calm. Something relaxing.
Fast forward to now: my 3D printer runs non-stop, like it’s training for a marathon I never signed it up for.
I’m a complete newbie, learning something new every single day:
Why did it fail?
Why did it succeed?
Why does it sound angry at 2 a.m.?
Friends ask me if I still sleep.
I do.
Just in short layers… like my prints.
At 57, I’ve learned it’s never too late to start a new hobby — especially one that smells like melted plastic, teaches patience, and somehow turns “just one more print” into an entire lifestyle.
I know the feeling. My son bought me on over year ago, another this fall and a used one a few weeks ago. I am 78 years old and he wants me to keep busy. Constantly on the go. I love it.
