Had a pretty gnarly clog that also required me to take off the extruded because a piece of plastic broke off inside there as well. I wanted to check the nozzle as well and when I went to remove it, boy was it tight. When I finally got it removed, it had been cross threaded and now I can not get any nozzle in there. The one that came in the printer goes in until about and inch of the nozzle pokes out and then nothing. I can not get it to go in any further without really cranking on it.
The first time I took my nozzle off it came off easy but going back on it felt like it wanted to get hung up on the wrong thread so I backed it out. I took it easy the next time but carefully applied upward force so I didn’t rely on the nozzle to maintain it’s own thread. I got it back in uncomfortably snug. I ordered the ceramic heating block kit in case it gives me any more troubl, it comes with a new nozzle as well I believe. I’ve changed the nozzle a few more times and it is still sketchy but works. The kit was cheap and came quickly so if that doesn’t help at least you don’t have to wait for it like other parts I’m waiting for.
Need to pre heat too 180-220c then if you have some thermal paste I used this
I’ve seen some posts floating around where folks have used anti-seize in the past. I wonder if that would be worth the investment as well.
Hello Amj.iphone,
I would be cautious with anti-seize unless you knew of its thermal transfer properties.
Unlike thermal paste/compound that is designed for it.
Cheers.
You can’t use anti seize as it will allow it to back out and you will have issues hitting the wipe station. I used thermal paste but I’m not saying anyone else should.
Creality did get me a replacement hot end. Soon as I got it I attempted a nozzle removal and it came out and went back in like buttah. Been printing again with no more hot end issues.
