Process for changing type of filament (PLA > PETG > PLA > etc)

This is just bothering me and I may be doing more than I need to: I Swap the Nozzle when changing the kind of filament. I’m worried that if I use a high temp filament such as PCTG and then try to print in PLA after without changing the nozzle The printer will have difficulty removing the filament and purging the nozzle. Is that how it should go? Can you just change the reels and carry on?

Don’t worry, I changed the plastics on the K1 without replacing the nozzle. True Obx
idian nozzle. PETG-PLA-ABS-TPU. Work fine!

The printer software remembers the last filament used. As long as you don’t reset the printer to factory, it will use purge temps consistent with the last filament. If you go PLA → PLA, it will purge at 220F or whatever. If you go PETG → PLA, it will purge at 250F then purge more at 220F.

Complete nonsense! It’s unnecessary. Particles of old filament may remain in the nozzle. Cold Pool!

What is complete nonsense? I just want to know the correct way to do this. And yes, I am worried about filament remnants in the nozzle.
