Just upgraded from my Ender to a K2 Plus combo. Very impressed with the bit of kit but I may be stuck registering. The privacy policy is bed time reading and why do they require any information for the printer? Makes me concerned.
Registration requires a smart phone and I don’t have one. I bought a 3D printer and nowhere does it say a smart phone is mandatory. If it had I wouldn’t have bought it.
Now I may be able to get access to one so that I can set the system up but this doesn’t bode well. Does it require a smart phone to use? If so I’m returning it.
So I have a shiny new 3D printer that looks great and I can’t use it because I don’t have a mobile phone.
Anyone know a way around this?

Why would you want to use a mobile phone for the K2 Plus? You don’t need any internet connection at all. You could even just print from a flash drive plugged into it.
You can also install Creality Print 7 and send files via a local network connection and check the camera of the printer there. Also works in the browser, enter http:// (not https) and the printer’s IP and the port :4408.
The mobile app is if you want to do cloud slicing or monitor the printer remotely, but you don’t need that to use it.

You would thinks so but the fact is on initial start it asks for language then an network connection where it then displays a QR code and won’t move on.
Update: I feel so dumb.
I restarted the system and brought it to the QR code. Simply pressing the next button takes me on to the self check and finishes the set up. It doesn’t have the QR code step in the Creality instructions but does in all the YouTube videos where everyone uses it.
So it has now performed the self check and made a few worrying clunking noises I will investigate. So appears all is OK.
Apologies to Creality for the thoughts I was having whilst I had my mental lapse.
I’ll close this now and slink away.
