Anytime I go to slice a model in CrealityPrint (versions 5.1.6 to 6.3) it crashes/closes at about 15% slicing.
I have uninstalled my graphics drivers Nvidia 2080 using DDU and reinstalled thinking it is an OpenGL issue.
No luck same issue. I have tried different versions of CrealityPrint. It all worked until the last month or so. That is why I am thinking it a graphic card / OpenGL issue.
It will slice if the model is very basic/small.
It will slice most of the time if I run CrealityPrint in compatibility mode for Windows 8.
I am at a loss and really anything you can think of would be great. My next stop is a new graphics card, looking at Nvidia 5080 but if that won’t fix it then I don’t know I want to do that.
I can’t get CrealityPrint to run with adding --disable-gpu-sandbox to the shortcut to test. Never launches. Also tried to launch the shortcut with --use-angle=gl and no luck, still won’t launch.
I hope that Creality will read this….
I found the fix.
When I print any large file, the slicer was crashing at 15%. Sometimes it would force close, sometimes it hangs other times it would lock the PC up.
Here is what is fixing the slicing issue.
I was able to launch crealityprint, then open task manager.
Right click on crealityprint and “go to details”
In the details tab right click on creatlityprint.exe and “set affinity”
I changed from all cores to 4 cores and the slicer has worked every time for complex prints.
I hope this helps someone else out…it has been a problem for more than a week now.
Have you tried other core options? I was having crashing issues too and computer should easily be able to handle this. I swapped it from 32 cores to 4 cores though and it goes but then goes extremely slow and kind of “laggy”.
(Don’t get me wrong - it’s better than not at all).
