Everytime during retracting this TC2866- Cutter not detected error pops up and not able to retract filament in CFS. Creality does not have this issue recorded yet, raised support ticket and waiting for response.
Tried recalibration multiple times and every time cutter calibration fails with this error. Looks like for me, this issue started coming in early Jan 2026 for me after printer firmware updates.
Is this related to latest firmware issue?! Can some expert advice on solving this issue. I stopped using CFS for multi-color printing due to this error now
Hey Nilesh, I think I’m in the same boat.
My K2 Plus was running fine until that January update, and now I’m getting the TC2866 error intermittently too. Have you tried rolling back the firmware yet to see if that clears it up, or are you still waiting on Support?
after couple of attempts, I am drawing conclusion that this is a 3 pin wire issue. Once I was able to do successful cutter calibration by replacing filament detection cable
Not yet, that is my last option to try. But once I was able to do successful cutter calibration by replacing filament detection cable
Yes Cutter is there and manually cutting fine. somehow it does not detect cutting during retraction. cutter calibration fails every time. I suspect that this is a cable issue. Unfortunately, I am not able to figure out which JST cable it is using. still struggling
I was having the same issue. It turns out that is was my fault. I was over zealous when tightening a replacement nozzle. I over tightened the nozzle which spun the ceramic hotend and made the nozzle sit too high in the hotend which made the cutter hit the end of the nozzle where the filament enters. The Cutter blade hitting the nozzle end gave me TC2866. Something to consider when replacing nozzles.

i am having this issue after installing new hot end board and extruder.
Creality customer service sucks! Waiting for resolution and replacement parts since last 20+ days. In the meantime, broken cable is somehow functional after few tweaks, so not touching hot end these days. But this cutter cable is making my printer brick, poor design and cable management
