Troubleshooting air assist upgrade installation: no longer cutting, extra thick burn mark

I have a 10w Falcon laser attached to an old Ender. I upgraded to add an air assist (Air Assist for CR-Laser Falcon Engraver | CrealityFalcon CA)

But it no longer cuts properly. In a single pass it is underpowered and a THICK line scorches the material offset by about a cm from the cut line.

There were two lenses included in the kit, I swapped out to the second lens but now it does not even engrave materials.

I uninstalled the air assist, and with the original lens it now works fine.

Thoughts or things to try before I go the return route?

thank you.

I think this is for the Falcon 10W laser engraver which is a whole device for its own, not the 10W upgrade module for the 3D printer. It would be the easiest if you just 3D print a similar nozzle that goes over the existing one. I also have the 10W laser module and can check later what would maybe work there.
