ATTENTION: Creality BL Touch Application Notice
-
@dkfauth I just installed the Creality BL touch kit v1 on my new Ender 3 v2. The wiring guide showing the 3pin dupont and 2pin XHF connector jammed into the BL touch XHF port on the board is correct. I cut the connectors off and put a proper 5pin XHF connector on because I had an extra around. A couple of observations:
- The wiring locations are correct.
- The Z limit-switch does not need to be disconnected.
- The v1.1.1 firmware works https://forum.creality.com/assets/uploads/files/1598411525642-ender-3-v2-marlin-2.0.1-v1.1.1-bltouch.bin
- The updated v1.3.1 firmware did not work (though I may try again now that the v1.1.1 is working)
- The hole closest to the heating block is not in the correct location for the v2. I mounted it for placement, scribed through the screw hole and drilled a new one without much difficulty. The mount is soft metal.
At some point, I may revise my setup and do it with a proper kit. But, for a beginner with a center-low glass bed, this has solved my first layer problems.

@admin Your video https://youtu.be/HhrKBajQ5LA shows and Ender 3 v2 connecting the BlTouch with an adapter and z port and not using the bltouch port highlighted with the arrow. This should not be needed on the Ender 3 v2.
Your instructions here https://bit.ly/32zWVNt show connection directly to the bltouch port which is conflicting with the video. Which is it.

@admin I believe @dkfauth is talking about this port/connector (see red box):
Guides on the internet say to use this dedicated port with the BLTouch/3DTouch. Why do we need to use an adapter board instead of using this dedicated connector?
-
@DNW
To install bl touch, you need to unplug the Z limit line, please refer to the installation tutorial:
https://youtu.be/UOAMv3Hr7WcUntil now, We don't have a firmware that you don't need to unplug the Z limit line.
-
Dear @dkfauth, I am confused about the dedicated port, what it means? Please give more details, thank you.
-
@admin please respond back to my question on adapter boards and dedicated port. I am running on the dedicated port. Are you saying you are not supporting the dedicated port?
-
@admin Thanks for the info! So there won't be a Firmware for using the dedicated socket on the bord without unplugging the z-stop switch?
-
@DNW Dear, V4.2.7-this is for the users who change the mainboard, then need to upgrade. And another one is for the original machine that has any changes.
-
@SlackHacky Dear, could you please send more details about the issues?
-
@ocariduc, no, it just for the BL touch use. Thank you.
-
@ocariduc Dear, it is in the download platform. I have checked. Thank you.
-
@admin Why does the video show that I need an adapter board for Ender 3 v2 when we have a dedicated port. In addition the cables shown in your forum https://forum.creality.com/topic/139/why-creality-ender-3-v2-bl-touch-firmware-doesn-t-officially-release-yet are not the same cable ends that came with my bltouch. Please clarify.
-
If I don't have the BL Touch, can I still upgrade from Firmware V1.0.1 to this V1.3.1 ?
Since both versions are based on Marlin 2.0.1, are there any changes besides support for the BL Touch ?
Thank you

@SlackHacky
Got it working on the 4.2.2 motherboard but only after reconnecting through adapter and Z socket.
Would not work connected to BLTouch socket. I had to swap red and blue cable in plug back to original order before I connected it up.

@admin The pdf file for this version of firmware has been removed !
-
@admin does not work for ender 3 v2 v4.2.2 and v4.2.7 - i'm NOT only person to say this
-
@DNW TMC2225 for v4.2.7 board and other for v4.2.2
the 1.3.1 BLTouch (at moment) does NOT Work on either board - i have personally test on my own v4.2.7 E3V2 others have tried on v4.2.2 E3V2 - i do have a working bltouch firmware i compiled from bugfix206 so i know its not a faultly bltouch as has been on both my v4.2.2 and v4.2.7 board (both boards fully working )

@admin said in ATTENTION: Creality BL Touch Application Notice:
Ender-3 V2-Marlin-2.0.1 - V1.3.1 - BLTouch.bin
Ender-3 V2-Marlin-2.0.1 - V1.3.1 - BLTouch - TMC2225.binCan you please explain the difference between those files? (Is there also a TMC2225 board, thought these were TMC2208 on the new 4.2.2 and 4.2.7 boards?)
PS: Will there be an official firmware, that is using the dedicated BLTouch connector on the new boards? Just saw in the video, that it is not used with this firmware.
So if I have wired my BLTouch like you described before it won't work?
