Creality 6 3D fully enclosed
-
I've seen some comments on wanting to fully enclose the Ender 6 3D printer (since the top is open), and just wanted to pass on some info. I purchased a plexi cover off of Banggood (search for creality 3D cover), and after waiting about a month it finally arrived. It fits the top of the printer great, and so far it's working like a champ.

@Dogberticus So for anyone following this, the carbon fiber
was an epic fail. But as I researched it more, it may be that I was using a 0.4 mm nozzle and it seems the recommended size is 0.5. I'll update this after I've tried the 0.
5 and let you know.

Yeahhh I guess you're right.
Various incarnations on thingiverse. No question on the looks (first one comes close maybe).

@telephasic The price is definitely steep for a couple of pieces of plexi (and hinges and a temp/humidity gauge). but I thought of making my own and checked on custom cut pieces and it wouldn't have saved me much, and not been as clean of a design. So I bit the bullet and got this cover, and in the end it was worth it. Now to install the steel nozzle and try printing with some carbon fiber filament.

Very cool. Good to know!
ā¬100 for a couple pieces of plexiglass sure is painful, but it is definitely the cleanest-looking solution I've seen.
Maybe some day!

@telephasic I was a little worried about that too, but it turns out the only place the boden tube/wiring hits the cover is against the back, and so far no wear or scratches. Also there's no additional noise from the tubing/wiring hitting the cover, and with it fully enclosed it's even quieter when running.

@Dogberticus
Yeah looks pretty good too!nice and clean
Thanks for sharing.
Been contemplating this too.. but was a little concerned about the wire loom and bowden tube getting squeezed too much.. doesn't it rattle around make noise and scratch the cover?
