I tried entering yesterday but I'm not sure it worked! So, sorry if this is a double post!
Our school year starts late, so I'm just now getting a feel for what kind of gifts our teachers like!
I'll be printing a lot more for them in the coming weeks, but right now I've got two that are fun.
The first is for a music director. He LOVES Star Wars so I printed this C3PO tiki mask designed by Geoff Wicks. I printed it in black, then did a spray paint over it in brown and then a light spray of gold. He's going to hang it on the wall!
I don't have a pic of another I'd sent out already for a High School teacher. She's a former student of mine who has a "nerd wall" so I made a Halloween baby Yoda for her. If I can get her to send a pic, I'll update this post
The second is more practical. My daughter's third-grade class needed some fraction blocks so I'm printing sets of these. They can be found on Thingiverse! I printed the first 50 layers in black and then switched to white to make sure the students could see numbers. I was advised by a teacher against printing sections in different colors because they want students to relate to sizes and not just memorize color patterns.
My son's teacher is fond of Starwars.
I printed her something to hold pens.
Good luck everyone
I made these cute pencil bookmarks for me and my classmates
@Plustar This is my model. My teacher loves the game.
I've got three back-to-school gifts... one practical and two fun More coming, but we are just back to school now so I'm building my print queue for all those teachers!
(1) For a third-grade teacher (my daughter's classroom!), I'm printing sets of fraction blocks and holders to use as math manipulatives.
(2) Our band instructor is a HUGE Star Wars fan, so I was thrilled to print out this C3PO Tiki model by Geoff Wicks. I printed it in black PLA, then spraypainted it brown and did a light gold layer over that.
or see a speed video of it printing at https://i.imgur.com/fHukdXJ.mp4
(3) My last submission comes off the print bed in about an hour. I made (another Geoff Wicks model) a Mummy version of "Grogu" for a high-school english classroom in Derby, KS. The teacher is one of my former students and she has a whole set of shelves dedicated to "nerd memorabilia" so I thought he'd be a cute addition for the Halloween season.
For this one, I printed and then spray painted it white and put a clear coat on. I'm thinking the next one will have to be in glow-in-the-dark filament!
I can't get this photo to load in properly yet, so I'll try again and update this post later tonight!
I made these identifications tags for school bags of the the little ones.
