Filament sensor stopping the print
-
It happened now for several times that the filament sensor stopped my print with still half a roll of filament left. I can resume the print without problems, but it is kind of annoying.
Does someone have an idea what could be causing this?

@rjamison I checked my filament sensor, and it is true that when you take the top off the enclosure the board moves around a bit, as it is sitting freely on two posts projecting out of the bottom half of the enclosure. However, there are two bosses projecting out of the upper half of the enclosure that press down on the board keep it from moving very much when the enclosure is screwed together. On my unit it certainly does not move around enough to cause a false filament reading.

Thanks, this was almost more information than I wanted

@MaxS it has been reported elsewhere in here a time or two. IIRC, there was at least one report that the board inside the runout detector was loose, and hot-gluing it down resolved the issue. I do suggest you search 'runout, as I think that's a common term in these reports.
