    • RE: BL Touch installation guide for Ender 3 V2

      @gopanvn321 said in BL Touch installation guide for Ender 3 V2:

      @admin I found a good article on the web can you please check with your engineer if this is Correct

      https://smith3d.com/installation-guide-for-official-ender-3-v2-1-1-6v-bltouch-firmware/

      I have just purchased the Creality BL Touch and fitted it to the ender 3 v2 as per his instructions.

      Printed the BL Touch mount he suggested. It only needs the one fixing and is very firm when in place. just needed to find to nuts and bolts to fit the BLT to the bracket.

      Had to change the order of the connections on the three pin plug as the left two wires had swapped positions in relation to the plug on the BL touch and needed to match as per his instructions

      I had downloaded a copy of the 1.16 BLTouch firmware before they took it down. Updated the firmware and found it is not BL Touch so downloaded the 1.11 BL touch firmware he provide the link for.

      Works a treat just needed to alter the z offset. This was a bit of a pain but once set up all ok.

      Tip:
      To alter the offset I started a print and paused it once it started to print. I then went into tune and changed the z offset to a minus figure and slowly increased the minus figure with a peice of paper under the nozzle and slowly lowered the nozzle until it was just touching the paper.
      A further slight adjustment whilst printing and it was all setup.

      note:
      In ver 1.11 the info screen selection has been replaced by levelling and the info screen has been moved to the bottom of the control menu.

      Got it working on the 4.2.2 motherboard but only after reconnecting through adapter and Z socket.
      Would not work connected to BLTouch socket. I had to swap red and blue cable in plug back to original order before I connected it up.

      When you reinsert the tube you have to ensure there is no gap between it and the nozzle.
      Any gap can cause clogging.
      When checking for clogging inside the hot end, it is best to remove the Nozzle whilst hot, push the tube right through to make sure the hot end isn't clogged then reinsert the nozzle fully then back it off slightly.

      Push the the tube in the hot end until it hits the nozzle and then tighten the nozzle onto the tube.
      This should ensure no gap between the two and help stop clogging.

      Check the recommended temperature for your filament, some require a hotter temp than others.
      Try using a hot end temp of 200° C for the creality PLA as that is what is set in the creality slicer software.

    • RE: Ender 3 Pro 4.2.7 BLTouch

      If I remember correctly the following two lines need to be as follows:
      #define Z_MIN_PROBE_USES_Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_PIN
      //#define USE_PROBE_FOR_Z_HOMING.

      Both are located at around line 855 in configuration.h

      you will also find:
      #define NOZZLE_TO_PROBE_OFFSET
      at around line 997

      If you print off and use this mount:
      https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4462870
      your setting would need to be
      #define NOZZLE_TO_PROBE_OFFSET { -42, -10, 0 }

      I assume the mosfet fuse was F2. Was it the same size as F3?

      @Hronus
      Hi, it does seem as if the board is faulty. If I'm correct then the board is supplied with 24V and needs to be regulated to give 5V for the electronics.
      With the USB cable connected and the power supply on, can you heatup the bed or hotend? If nothing happens check the 15amp fuse on the board. It may have blown or may not be seated correctly in the holder.
      If it has blown it's a good indication there's an issue on the board.

      The latest marlin firmware buxfix 2.6.x works with the BLTouch port as well except that the Z offset in tune is broken.
      It's the version I've been running for the last week or so without issues.

      Check your connections on the motherboard. Is the ribbon from the board to the display connected correctly?
      If you use the incorrect firmware it can produce this sympton.

      I'm asuming you mean the LEDs on the BLTouch are lighting up? This is seeing the 5V through the USB lead.

      The correct firmware is :
      V4.2.2-Ender-3 V2-32bit Mainboard-Marlin-2.0.1-V1.3.1-BLTouch.bin

      For this you need to connect the BL Touch as per this video:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI9ISEPPX0w&list=PL5UfhdgCEfhPn9Zdz-yabItZjDmqB9uK6&index=14&ab_channel=Creality

      you shouldn't need to change the DWin firmware but if you have, use the original file included on the Microsd card provided or from the website.

      the file is located in the zip file on the web site :
      Ender-3 V2 SD Card File_V1.3.zip

      both are available here:

      Marlin are working on a version of the Dwin for the E3V2 but it is still in early development.

    • RE: ATTENTION: Creality BL Touch Application Notice

      There seems to be a few different ways to connect the BL Touch to the V2 depending on where you obtain the firmware

      Creality - 3 pin plug to adapter board, 2 pin to Z limit port(as per the ender 3 and pro)
      Marlin - both to BT touch port but three pin requires two cables swapping (red and blue on the offical v3.1)
      Other builds such as by flavio use both the BL Touch ( again swapping the two Cables) and the Z limit port

      It can be quite confusing.

      I would suggest deciding on one source for the firmware and sticking to it until Creality get their act together and release the official BL touch.

      I've tried all three ways and am now sticking with the Marlin firmware.

      Make sure you have selected Fat 32 when formatting the card.
