@spauliszyn : Did you ever figure out if you need M420 S1 or not in Cura ? I've got the same question.. and it sadly doesn't seem to have been answered anywhere on the forum clearly.

    • RE: Bed Leveling doesn't actual level the bed

@bucweat did you ever figure out if you need to do the M420 or not ? I have the same question.. not sure what to put into my Cura (4.8) default profile! Would appreciate learning from whatever you've experienced !

    • RE: How to autolevel?

A question that has not been answered here still is this: is ABL on without an explicit M420 S1 command ? There's lots of warning in the marlin firmware documentation that a G28 disables auto-bed-leveling and you need to turn it back on afterwards.. i'm getting mixed messages about whether it is required in the preamble G-code for your slicer.

Would appreciate advice here from either the community or @admin !

    • RE: Is auto-leveling persistent?

@BD : To clarify here, what's the recommended setup and GCODE when using something like octoprint / Astroprint to print via tethered USB ?

      1. You should leave the SD Card in there
      2. You should level the bed via the LCD
      3. You need to do "something" to the standard Cura GCODE to get ABL to take / not be ignored ?

Step 3 is where i'm missing something. Right now, as of the latest Cura, with the built-in CR-6 SE profile that's now included, I have the following start / stop GCODE... is using this profile and then printing via Octoprint (or any other method) ignoring the benefit of ABL by using G28 as it is ?

Does it really matter if I send this GCODE via Astro/octo-print or via SD card? I would think it would be the same, no ?
