@rattlehead I've already had to replace mine, as you say, the plastic case on the stock extruder is junk. Mine cracked so badly it would no longer 'grip' the filament, resulting in almost every print failing.

Disappointing for a product thats only about 3 months old

@admin @frozy @BaDboD unless I am missing something obvious then this still does not work. This nozzle icon you have highlighted is not a 'button', pressing it does not give access to any settings. The 'set temp' section for the nozzle temperature does not contain any settings for an auto-shutdown.

Please show video/screenshots of how to enable this function as many of us on here do not seem able to get it working

Did a factory reset, seems to be up and running again for now, this thing really seems to be held together with string & sellotape!

Checked the thermistor in the head and its located OK. Although the auto-levelling only seems to get the nozzle up to around 110 DegC, if I pre-heat manually the nozzle can get to around 180, then cycles around 170-180, unable to get higher. The bed temperature cycles around 38-40, after a few minutes I get this error.

Fair enough for the error, but why are the heaters cutting in/out when the sensors seem to be reading OK.

Oh, and the manual axis movement still does not work

    • Dead CR-10 Smart?

Well this is a new fault. Went to start a print this morning and as I had removed the glass bed for cleaning I ran the auto-levelling routine, or at least I tried to run it.

Screen came up with the following error
      PXL_20210815_100921641.jpg

After a power cycle next to nothing works. Trying to move the axis does not work, running the aux level, axis does not move. Running the auto level the nozzle temperature increases quickly to 110 or 111, but the display then 'freezes' and the temperature does not update any more, axis does not move.

I've tried re-flashing the firmware, still the same. It's only a couple of months old and not had a particularly hard life so far.

Any 'Creality' admins out there can advise what I need to do to get my unit running again?

    • CR-10 Smart filament run out sensor

After the non-functional auto-shutdown feature I thought I'd try and see what happened if I let the filament run out midway through a print. Guess what, nothing happens!

The blue light on the sensor goes out when the filament stops passing through it, but no signal to pause/stop the printer.

Come on Creality, this isn't your first attempt at a printer, please sort these issues out.

    • RE: CR-10 Smart. No auto shutdown.

I'd like to confirm the auto-shutdown feature does not work. There is no option to enable/disable this in the menu, despite it being shown in your promotional videos.

      Please sort this out

    • RE: CR-10 Smart auto shutdown not working

@BaDboD I did, although it took several attempts. Can't say for sure what 'fixed' it but I think the issue I was having was that at some point in setting up the WiFi my phone would disconnect from the printer (guess the internal network goes offline briefly) and re-connect to my house WiFi. I think I ended up making my house network not auto-connect, that allowed my phone to re-connect to the printer during its' setup.

Disappointed to not have the auto-shutdown working, I've done a couple of long prints (24hr+) and that would be a nice feature, especially as it's one of the points they keep mentioning in the promo material. The YouTube video showing how to upgrade the firmware has a different interface, and an auto-shutdown option, not sure why we don't get that, anyone from Creality monitor this chat able to answer?

On the plus side, I've had a few nice prints so far! This still needs a bit of a tidy up, but for a print in progress I was happy with it
