    • Extruder gear replacement

Hi everyone, I am considering to replace the extruder gear, because it may start to wear. What are the parameter I should look for in buying a new one?

    • Filament holder with bearings

Hi everyone, I have designed a filament holder with bearings for my CR6. It seems to fix the large oscillations that the spool often has while printing, that I believe (with no real prove, I admit) can cause the extruder to flatten the filament, especially if it became a little brittle.

      The link is here:

I hope it does something for you as well.

PS I think it fits other CR machines (CR-10 smart in example) but I cannot be sure.

    • RE: Mainboard versione on new Ender3 v2

@Gracy thanks, I was helping a friend and hoping he can avoid to open the printer or blindly upload FWs.

The mainboard chaos is quite difficult to sustain, makes difficult to suggest creality machines.

@admin should support in making this aspect more easily to recognize, in example just from the menu on the display.

Which mainboard version is installed on new Ender3 v2?

    • RE: Continuous clogs

A different filament, not newer neither better kept, allowed the print to be finished.

However there wasn't a real clog. I just changed the filament and try to extrude the filament and there were no issues.

I believe that the filament, a geeetech silk pla, got a little brittle and the oscillations of the spool in retraction intensive parts increase the probability that the extruder ruin the filament, stopping the extrusion.

I will be doing some test, printing a new holder.

    • RE: Continuous clogs

@Gracy I have tried all the steps, not just once.

The weirdest thing that happens is the fact that I hear I little bang from the extruder, like a big missed step. Not sure if this is just the consequence or something in the extruder weakened overtime.

I have also tried replacing the original lock in the hotend with the one that comes with the capricorn tube, it went a little over, but I wasn't able to finish the model.

I will try with a different filament.

    • RE: Continuous clogs

@Gracy the filament is not brand new but it seems well kept, I'll try a different one to check.

Installing the Capricorn tube, I kept the original plastic holder, not sure this makes makes any difference.

    • Continuous clogs

My CR6 keeps clogging, I have been unable to finish any pla print in weeks.

The issue seems to be associated to parts that need a fair amount of retraction. I have also installed a Capricorn tube, with no benefit.

I have also tried increasing the hotend temperature. Any suggestion?

    • RE: What is this part?

I didn't have it but I would use it to help loading the filament, between the filament sensor and the extruder.

    • RE: Can't get Bowden tube out of hot end.

The bowden tunbe can be tough, is your hot-end warm? I usually do this operation while checking the nozzle, with the hot-end at 200+, depending on the material I was previously using. If there is some material between the end of the tune and the nozzle would be otherwise impossible to remove the tube.
