    • RE: Misplaced Creality SD card - is software available for download?

      Hello !

U can find the drivers here :
      https://forums.creality3dofficial.com/?smd_process_download=1&download_id=27827

If your printer is a Ender serie, go here : https://forums.creality3dofficial.com/download/ender-series/
Select your printer, then scroll down to the bottom of the page.
You will find the download of SD Card files...

Another easy way to install (correctly) the necessary Windows drivers, or to install them under Apple OS or Linux:
Download MatterControl (Slicer software full of interesting functions). It is open source and free. During its installation it will offer to install the drivers essential for communication between the computer and the printer.

Personally I find MatterControl much easier to use and more ergonomic than Cura or Creality Slicer ... and more powerfull !
      https://www.matterhackers.com/store/l/mattercontrol/sk/MKZGTDW6

      TIPS :
BEFORE installing the drivers (or MatterControl):

      • open windows device manager
      • open branch PORT (COM & LPT)
      • Note the com port numbers used.
      • Install the drivers (or install MatterControl), then restart the computer immediately (ESSENTIAL !!!)

      After restarting the station:

      • Connect the printer to the computer and start it.
      • Wait for Windows to detect it (significant beep)
      • open windows device manager
      • open branch PORT (COM & LPT)
      • see which COM port (s) have appeared => new port is used by the printer via the USB connection.

If the slicer cannot find the printer, it will suffice to modify the COM port used in his stettings.

WARNING: if you change the USB slot used, the COM port will change!

      Note :
MatterControl allows you to have all printer controller commands (and more) directly at hand to easily configure a print or adjust its parameters.
It allows (among other things) to comfortably carry out a very precise manual bed leveling, as well as an automatic bed leveling with a BLTouch ...
If you have mechanic's shims you can expect very high accuracy

@Suggsey said in Creality and Firmware:

This is just my opinion and I have no intentions to cause or bear malice to what i'm going to write.
Would it not be prudent to, on your sales site and one flicks through All the sales pictures on any of the Creality sales or information sites place a link Next to each model of ALL the Creality 3D Printers that will open up a section with the information of that particular 3D Printer, With All Firmware down loads, and also offer anyone to purchased SD cards fully loaded with the compatible Firmware, so those that are unable to download firmware do not have to spend time trying to get the Correct firmware for their particular 3D Printer.
As in my case I have downloaded a virus when i wanted to upgrade my firmware, and there are benefits of more Revenue for Creality If it is packaged and presented as a good Back up, with the added information of Rogue hackers and viruses

      Hello.
Whether for a 3D printer or for anything else:

      • files must be downloaded ONLY from the machine manufacturer's website (for compiled firmware), or from the software publisher (for an application, or for non-compiled firmware).

The compiled firmwares: only on the Creality site.
Uncompiled firmwares: only on the Marlin site (and only if you know what you're doing!)
Annexes software: only on his publisher's website!

To do otherwise is to take the risk of compromising your IT security ...

If your antivirus alerts you about a file: tell yourself that a "false positive" DOES NOT EXIST !!!

The majority of download platforms, even the most famous, are infested with data corrupted by viruses, malware and other similar jokes ...

    • Try to approach perfection!

      Hello !
The Ender 3 Max printer COULD BE a good machine ...

      Points of vigilance or improvement:

      • try to be more rigorous in the manufacture of motherboards ... My printer is theoretically equipped with a v4.2.2 card (this is what is indicated on the electronic circuit of the MB!). The only solution I found to make it work pretty much was to compile a firmware from the Marlin 2.0 files, based on a v4.2.7 card!
      • ABANDON the mechanical contact limit switches, use magnetic sensors more reliable and not realy more much expensive!
      • Work on the plate supporting the bed, and especially on its adjustment system which is more the reflection of a handyman than that of an industrialist !!! The pseudo plastic springs: it's a shame !!!
All it would take is a metal plate supporting the bed and a Hall sensor on the print head to put an end to that painful bed leveling! maybe $ 5 ... certainly much less in China ....

Make these improvements and you will be close to perfection ... 🙂

    • RE: ender 3 MAX error en cambio de filamento

@elgringo01 said in ender 3 MAX error en cambio de filamento:

    • RE: Ender 3 Max - Marlin Configuration?

@redoctober45 said in Ender 3 Max - Marlin Configuration?:

I know the Ender 3 Max is new but it looks like things like Cura profiles and firmware configurations are lagging behind. The Cura profile is minor because I think all I have to do is adjust the bed size. However, the firmware configuration is a kind of annoying or is this based off of another configuration I can use?

In my humble opinion: the difficulties encountered on the right or on the left are linked to the motherboard ...
In theory the Ender 3 Max is equipped with a Creality v4.2.2.
I suspect that the assembly of these cards does not have the rigor that one would expect from the electronics industry ...
Reading various forums, for some users their printer works fine only if the firmware is based on Marlin Creality v4.2.2 version.
For others like me, using version 4.2.2 only causes malfunctions, malfunctions solved by recompiling the firmware from the Marlin v4.2.7 files ...
It seems that some Creality cards marked 4.2.2 are equipped with the electronic components of 4.2.7 ... otherwise how to explain this phenomenon?

Moreover, I wonder why in 2021 we find these printers equipped with limit switches by mechanical contact when using magnetic contacts would be much more reliable!
      .
The technique of the plate supporting the Bed could also be greatly improved without significantly increasing the public selling price ... for example a metal plate, and a hall effect sensor on the print head would solve the eternal problem of leveling ... this type of sensor costs around € 4 in Europe (public price) ...
Maybe the developers of Creality will read this post ... 🙂

    • RE: problem with the bl touch

      Hello.
I have the same kind of problem with a BLTouch v3.1 bought in the Creality store for an Ender 3 Max ...
I managed to solve the problem only partially ...

      1. The corresponding firmware proposed by Creality is not good ... I recompiled a firmware from the Marlin repository: now the auto-bed leveling goes a little further (but I still have problems .. .)
      2. the connectors of the BLTouch are of poor quality ... I solved the problem of the print head jamming in the center of the Bed by chance, by disassembling then reassembling the BLTouch on its support ... the connector is very small and his contacts are not terrible ...

Now when I launch the auto leveling, the central point is normally checked, then the head moves to the second point at the front left of the board, the BLTouch tests the surface of the bed once, then everything stops ... I do not know why...

I tried a bed leveling from the Slicer MatterControl ... At the blocking point the software tells me that the BLTouch returns an error (without giving me details) ...

I don't understand why it is so complicated to use an accessory supposed to facilitate the use of the printer !!!
