    • Woes upon woes - About to scrap CR6-SE for spares.

      A brief timeline.

Backed the kickstarter, received my printer on time.

Initially happy but then realised the self-levelling wasn't working.

After a ludicrous amount of back and forth Creality said the print bed needed replacing. They needed my backer number to send out a replacement.

I don't have my backer number (I accidentally deleted the email). They keep emailing me updates to my backer email address, they have the shipment address and the serial number but they can't help with shpping out the spare part until I tell them a number I KNOW they have.

Power switch intermittently sparks. They tell me to send video of it failing. It's intermittent, so I can't.

SD reader starts to go intermittent on me. I tell them. Nothing. Fortunately, I'm in the process of setting up Octoprint when it goes, so I can survive.

Last night, power switch fails to switch off the machine - it just keeps running. So I switch off at the mains.

Now my Raspberry Pi has burned out. I suspect it's from a power surge through the USB port.

I wonder if it's possible that Creality will get back to me on any of these problems, ever. Every single one of the contacts I've had with them has taken an email follow up a week later to elicit a response.

I'm close to binning the machine, so I'll have spares available soon if anyone needs anything.

    • RE: Purchase recommendation for CR-6 SE ore not?

      No.

We're all unpaid beta testers for this printer.

      • Autolevelling (a major reason why I bought this printer) just doesn't work.

      • Support is appalling. I started off with someone who didn't even know about the CR6SE being in their lineup.

      • Boy, is it noisy. When peope are replacing fans after a week or two with a new product you know something's up.

Maybe buy one in six months when they have ironed out the problems, as, if it worked, it'd be a terrific printer.

    • RE: How to autolevel?

@vandiemen311 Tried the wheel tightening solution - thanks for the idea but no improvement. Now awaiting response from Creality support. These are the five print areas I retrieved form the bed (though the near left one wasn't peelable).

    • RE: Printing bed seems to be not even... (Autolevel fail?)

@sjbolton Not my understanding of how autolevel works, i.e. "measure the heights then print a few fill layers to build up to a level print plane". Rather the points are tested that the printer works out the level at each point and, instead of printing everything level, adds in a Z adjustment. So, if your print bed is x degrees of level, the whole print comes out x degrees off level and thus at right angles to the board.

    • Defaulting to Nozzle temp 0C

Received my printer Saturday, all going well so far.

One oddity: it worked 100% fine for three days then, with no changes from me, it changed behaviour.

If I start a print, the printer sets the nozzle target temperature to zero. This means that it heats the bed but the nozzle sits at (currently) 20deg forever. I can override it by going to preheat for PLA, after which I can hit the print button and everything's fine.

Obviously though, I'd like it to work properly rather than needing a workaround. Any ideas?

    • RE: Noisy Fans

      I suspect 24v as there's no reason also to have a 12v output. However if it is a 24v output, here's a guide to fitting a 12v fan on a 24v supply.

There's also a good guide to quiet fans here:

Please let us know how it goes.
