2024 K1 Max - CFS-C

Bought a K1-Max in 2024, in 2025 I had to replace the hot end due to a clog and replaced with “K1 Ceramic Heating Block Kit - Quick-swap Nozzle Kit” SKU 4001030132. Just added the new CFS-C kit and having issues getting the extruder to load and print. Was wondering if maybe I’m supposed to leave the extruder gear lock in an open vs close position or if maybe I need a different extruder than the original unit.

Quick swap nozzle is OK. Extruder lever closed. Unfortunately, the PTFE in the kit is quite short for the K1 Max and bent at the extruder. This causes problems with filament loading. It is also necessary to check whether the blue LED lights up on the new sensor when inserting the filament to indicate that the filament has reached the extruder. Another problem is that under the new sensor on the extruder there is a place where the PTFE tube was originally and the filament gets stuck there. I disassembled the extruder and inserted about 6.5 - 6.7 mm PTFE tube there. Now the filament loading is OK.

Extruder for CFS does not have a lever for low king unlocking. It has springed lever only.

Did you buy CFS kit? It comes with specific extruder.

Do you have pictures of that?

I just installed on my 2024 kmax with unicorn nozle. And it just wont print… the filament loads. It level the table ( very slowly) and get stuck for about 40 min. With the printer head in front left corner. The the cfs-c remove the filament and tries to feed it again.. and it cant.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures. Your extruder won’t take filament. Did you install a new extruder sensor? There is a blue LED on the sensor, it should light up when filament is inserted. If it lights up but there is no extrusion, then you need to adjust the extruder as I wrote earlier. I also used a longer PTFE tube from the cutter to the extruder, the original is too short for the K1 Max.
