AppImage fails on Alma Linux 9

first time K1 user; and I need to set up the Slicer on a Linux Box running stock Alma 9.

When I try to execute the AppImage (the two most recent versions from K1 3D Printer Software & Firmware Download (, I get the following:

/usr/bin/AppImageLauncher: /lib64/ no version information available (required by /usr/bin/…/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/appimagelauncher/
mprotect failed in ExecutableAllocator::makeExecutable: permission denied

The last bit seems to relate to Selinux, but I am not sure what exactly it complains about and why the AppImage would touch something that Selinux does not like.

Any advice on how to deal with this?

a friendly bumb …

Just to let you know, I have given up on this.

I instead installed the Ultimaker Cura AppImage for current Linux Distros, and that works out-of-the-box.

All I can figure is that the Creality AppImage is outdated and needs to be re-made for up-to-date Linux Distros/Kernels. A little dissapointing that I had to spend so much time on this issue only to find out that the fault is apparently with Creality (and that I never got a response to my query either).
