I purchased a k2 plus from a secondary vendor. It has printed a few awesome things for me, but now it seems to be loosing small plastic pieces from the head, and progressed to shutting down completely after I restart. In taking the whole thing apart I find piece that are broken, some sticky looking goo in what holds the extruder & hotend in place its a mess. Of course creality told me to return or exchange and thats not possible. Im looking for someone that can put together all new pieces to build this for me, so I can just replace the whole thing. Along with some simple instructions to do so. Im a newbie so please be kind! I have a few pieces for repairs, but why can’t I find just the “whole” thing assembled for situations like this. Thank you in advance to anyone who can assist! I’ll send pix to anyone who wants to give this a shot and I will pay for parts and labor!
Welcome to the community.
Let me restate what I believe you are trying to say and please correct what is listed below:
- You Bought a K2 Plus from a secondary seller - initially worked well.
- Printer started shedding small plastic parts from the toolhead.
- Problem escalated to full shutdowns after reboot.
- Disassembly revealed broken pieces and sticky residue around the extruder/hotend mount.
- Creality advised return or exchange, which is not an option.
- Wants a complete replacement toolhead/extruder assembly rather than individual parts.
- Cannot find a fully assembled “drop-in” replacement.
- Is a beginner and needs simple instructions.
- Will provide photos.
- Will pay for parts and labor if someone can rebuild it.
Let me help frame expectations.
If you bought a second-hand machine as your first 3D printer, that’s a steep learning curve - especially if the seller was dumping a damaged unit or a lemon. You’re starting at a disadvantage because you don’t yet know what a properly working printer feels like, so it’s harder to recognize when something is wrong.
The good news is that Creality machines are very user-serviceable. They were designed to be repaired with little more than a hex wrench(usually comes with most spare parts kits) and pliers.
That said, your description is very vague. If you want meaningful help from the community, you need to be more specific. Post clear photos of the damaged areas. Vague symptoms don’t get traction - visuals do.
Based on what you described (plastic fragments, shutdowns, sticky residue around the toolhead), you’re most likely looking at replacing the hotend/toolhead assembly.
Those are available from Creality and Amazon. If you live near a Micro Center, they sometimes stock them locally (call first).
Creality has short install videos here - watch both:
They cover essentially the same process in slightly different ways.
There are many Amazon listings. If your unit is an early model, this may also be a good time to upgrade the factory nozzle. It’s smart to keep a spare hotend anyway - blobs of death happen.
If you’re unsure which version to buy, grab the cheapest compatible one. In my experience, the generic assemblies work just as well as Creality’s branded version at roughly half the price.
Bottom line: post photos, confirm which assembly you need, and be prepared to do some basic hands-on work. These printers are fixable - but you have to meet the community halfway.

There are four nozzle sizes. They nozzles are also sold in kits of 4 for the four sizes.
