Bed mesh leveling

Hey folks,

So I had manually calibrated my bed mesh to about 0.38 variance and after a few test prints, it was back to 0.49. Is this due to auto-leveling or does the shift happen due to movement? Having a heck of a time dialing in this k2 for a bit now but not giving up!

Thanks a lot in advance!

My experience is that bed mesh changes when you remove parts from print plate or the print plate itself over the day.
When you switch on the printer it’s calibrating the bed level by moving it several time to ground, this is normally not done afterwards during further prints and therefore when you manually touch the plate too much it looses this calibration which then adds to the original bed mesh.

If you calibrate your bed with screws do it just after the printer switched on and calibrating the bed first time. This way the good mesh should be back at least again when you power on the printer.

By the way, I had once a problem with the print plates, on the left rear side it happened some times that I put the plate on top instead inside this ‘corner’ which resulted to a bed mesh with > 0.9mm variance! Since then I am carefully moving in the print plate to its right position on the magnetic bed and not on the guide.

Wow! Thank you! That confirmed something else for me possibly - the bed being “off” by maybe 1/8" on the left side front, instead of occupying/filling the entirety of the magnetic bed. As a matter of fact, as I’m typing this I’m realizing I should just attach a picture.
