Belt tension

Hi everyone,

I’m struggling with dimensional accuracy on my Creality K1C. I’ve been printing calibration cubes and while my Y-axis is dialed in perfectly (exactly 20.00mm) and Z is corrected, my X-axis is consistently coming out short (around 19.65mm).

I’ve already tuned flow, PA, cooling, and shrinkage in Orca Slicer, but the discrepancy between X and Y suggests a mechanical issue. I suspect my belt tension is incorrect or uneven.

I tried reaching out to Creality Support for official specs, but I haven’t received a reply. I also can’t find any clear documentation specifically for the K1C regarding belt tuning using the frequency (sound) method.

Could anyone confirm:

  1. What is the official target frequency (Hz) for K1C belts? (I’ve seen conflicting info between 110Hz and 140Hz for the original K1).

  2. Where exactly should the toolhead be positioned during the measurement to get a reliable reading? (Pushed fully to the front, back, or centered?)

I want to make sure the mechanics are squared away before I resort to scaling models in the slicer.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello There,

1, K1C does well at 110 Hz
2. you want the tool head centered and about 15cm from the front idler.

I’ve never had any luck with the frequency apps myself because of how inaccurate they are. I’ve used the this model to help with belt tensioning. This video does a good job of walking you through the process if you haven’t done it before.

Good luck!
