I researched the best Creality 3D printer to find the perfect option for hobby projects, small business use and everyday printing. After reading expert reviews from trusted sources like the New York Times, All3DP and Tom’s Hardware, two models consistently stand out as top recommendations:
However, I am having trouble deciding which one would better suit my needs. I care about print quality, ease of use, speed and reliability. A larger build volume and advanced features would be a bonus too.
Has anyone tried either of these? Which one would you recommend – the high-performance Creality K1 Max or the budget-friendly and reliable Ender 3 V3 SE? Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated.
after a tonne of research I went with the k2plus. build volume, and has printed 400 hours for me in the past 8 weeks without any prior printing experience. That said, the price is a bit much for some. I waited for one of the great sale prices that show up.
I have two K1 Max’s with CFS C‘s a K2 and a K2 Plus both with CFS..
I also have two Ender 3’s that have been upgraded with Sprite heads / dual z and one SE for a total of seven Creality printers.
All of which I bought used or refurbished at 1/4 of the price of new. All of them needed some minor tweaks and minor repairs but well worth it.
I have all seven of them printing and it’s a good feeling. And got all seven printers for about $2000..
Each one has special use, depending on the project: single color, multicolor, PETG TPU PLA silk abs asa etc. It’s nice having the bandwidth to print complex multi part. objects but also having the backups so you’re never without a working printer at any given moment.
I would agree with some of the comments here. What is your budget? The K Series are definitely flagship, but there are a bunch of other ones that you can go with that are also good. Not as fast, not multi-color, but they will get the job done. Once you get over the “It’s going to be 18 hours?” part and just say, I’m going to bed, I’ll set the print going, and when I get home from work it will be done. So who cares how long it takes.
I have an Ender 3 Pro that I upgraded with the 32bit silent board and a glass bed that I flipped over to the non-textured side. I take the time to level it by hand, and it will not go out of level for a month or more. I get a glassy smooth bottom on my prints (I use something called 3DLAC that I get from a place locally 3D Herndon in Herndon, VA - expensive, but you only use a very light mist and only once every 6 prints or so)
So it takes some work, but it is very reliable, I have done a TON of collapsible swords, I used Octoprint and a mod called OctFactory(?) that would put code in the print to push the item off the bed. I had it running sword blades all day while I was at work and I’d come home to a box full of them.
