Looking at what the community has modded the space pi with, I’d bet integrated desiccant, definitely a better filament tube connection, possibly room for four spools, and maybe rfid reading.
Of course I’ll provide feedback, that’s how we give and grow!
With all due respect, Jim, what Optimus just confirmed is that it’s the CFS. I don’t know where this idea of the Dryer Box and CFS being separate comes from. The CFS is practically designed to function as a filament drying box with the addition of multi-filament use. It uses a desiccant-based method to keep filaments moisture-free while managing filament loading and unloading. The ONLY difference would be IF they included a fan that effectively makes it an active filament dryer, not a dryer box, thats it and that brings me to my next point…
@Optimus When are we getting the CFS in the US? Not trying to be funny, but for the past three months, Creality has been pushing products no one asked for, and now this? A filament dryer? When you can’t even deliver on the CFS, which lets just be honest, is a filament dryer. why should we believe for a second that a Dryer Box is coming? Honestly, I and others are getting fed up with this whole game—where they keep stringing us along and screwing over the community instead of delivering what we actually asked for, and THE COMPANY PROMISED
Im STILL trying to find the person who asked for the Creality Hi. So far Ive got no-one so idk why the money was even spent on developing it when Creality cant even finish the other projects
I must have missed that. Could you show me where he said that… Thanks…
Also remember that the present Creality CFS system doesn’t dry the filament. The Silica gel inside only removes moisture from the air making the container dry whereas a dryer box is considered to be a device to remove moisture from filament through a heating system with fans.
I think it will at least have the capacity for 4 rolls and a max temp of 110c. Wifi connection and creality cloud interface would be great with the option to turn on/off or set timers. A useful add-on would be an insert for drying silica beads. Best case scenario would be if the base is only a shell and the entire drying apparatus would mount on top of the CFS as a conversion kit.
Here is a Dryerbox almost everytime needed the humidity is here often 65% and above
So yes i wan’t to join the test program for sure.
What would be the features? I think multiple rolls of fillament could be dryed at once, printing direct from the dryerbox, mayby RFID recognition so the dryer could choose the right program for that type of filament.
And yes a detailed feedback for sure, complet with pictures
So count me in please
Two rolls. Ability to set infinite time. Ability to control LED’s according to if it’s heating or not. Most important of all - ability to USE while printing is in progress, ie feeding direct from the dryer to the printer. Some manufacturers put a hole at the front, top or at 45 degrees. My ideal would be to have the exit holes in a sliding shutter, so it can be pulled out anywhere from vertical to horizontal. with the sliding shutter quadrant sealing the rest of the dryer off. A lid that hinges all the way back would be great so you don’t have to break your neck threading it up!. And of course, lifting the lid for 20 seconds every hour or so during drying is a pain - why don’t we have a method of getting rid of the damp air automatically?.
Based on my experience with the Space Pi filament dryer, here are a few improvements I believe the new model could have!
Better Sealing - A more airtight design to prevent moisture from creeping in, even when the dryer is not in use.
Larger Desiccant Compartment - A significantly bigger desiccant storage to keep filament dry for longer, as the current small compartments aren’t very effective.
Creality Cloud Integration - The ability to monitor and control the dryer remotely via the app, making filament management more convenient.
NFC Reader - An automatic temperature-setting feature that detects NFC-enabled spools and adjusts drying settings accordingly for optimal performance.
Can’t wait to actually see what’s new and if I got any of the features right!
I believe I haven’t mentioned that the drying box is the CFS, as these are two different products. The drying box is a container designed to keep the filament dry, with features such as temperature control and drying functions. And the CFS is our multi-color printing system, which connects to the printer for multi-color printing. The basic drying function it offers is merely an additional feature (may not work well in particularly humid areas) and cannot replace a dedicated drying box.
I have confirmed with my colleagues from the Store team that the CFS is now available for purchase. You may check our official website for confirmation. Regarding the challenges you encountered with Hi, I’m not entirely sure about the specific issues you’re facing. If you are an influencer, please reach out to our collaboration team for further assistance.
If you are trying to purchase Hi but are unable to do so, we sincerely appreciate your interest. I have also checked with the logistics team, and they are making every effort to resolve the situation. From what I know, shipping and related procedures to the U.S. has indeed been more challenging since January, differing from previous years. The team is still adapting to these new changes.
We will try to ensure that all regional Stores list the product at the same time. Thank you for your patience and support!
@Bonfireman - I have a Sunlu S1 and an S2 sitting here and neither of them have sliding shutters with the exit hole in. Just stationary exit holes. Tes, the lid hinges right back, but it’s weight makes loading filament difficult.
Let me clarify that I wasn’t saying @Optimusexplicitly confirmed that its the CFS. My point was that his confirmation seemed to reinforce the idea that a drying solution is needed - the entire point of my argument (although I see it may have been expressed poorly) was to ask why release a standalone Dryer Box instead of the CFS (which I see Optimus says is release…), which already acts as an impromptu drying box and supports multi-filament use.
That said, the bigger issue I think is the lack of updates and availability. Optimus mentioned the CFS is available, but its only available for the K2. There’s been little to no clear timeline for broader compatibility or availability. The showcased it at CES25, but since then, there’s been little movement (and by movement I mean communication). It’s frustrating to see demand for a product go largely unanswered while they push out separate solutions instead.
Thanks a ton, @Jimandyen! Super excited to put this thing through its paces and share my experience! I’ll make sure to put together a review that’s as thorough as it is fun
Huge thanks, @Optimus & @Creality team! Pumped to be part of this beta and can’t wait to dig in. PM received! I’ll make sure this dryer gets a **proper, real-world workout.** Let’s gooo!
