Blank touchscreen after firmware update

Hey!

I just received a Halot Mage 8k printer. After a successful test print, I updated the firmware as instructed on the Creality Cloud website under firmware downloads.

After the flash is successfully installed, and the printer is shut off and back on, the touchscreen LCD backlight turns on, but does not display anything, not even the Creality logo on bootup.

I have already done all of the following. I am able to tell the firmware is flashing despite the blank screen based on USB drive LED flashing, and the loud beep after the flash is complete.

  • Reflash the firmware again.
  • Rollback to previous version.
  • Multiple different flash drives.
  • Reseat the LCD screen ribbon cable.

Additionally, I was able to navigate the menus and successfully complete a print even with the screen blank. Clearly the printer is still functioning, but somehow the firmware for the touchscreen has messed up in some way.

What can I do to restore functionality?

Hi,

I have the same issue, did you ever get this resolve?

Thanks

Craig

Yeah I replaced the screen with one from ChitUsystems, and that then had perfect display, and no touch functionality. I’m about to throw this whole printer away at this point

Since not even creality knows how to fix this issue with the chitu firmware and controlboard I’ll chime in..

1.Just power off and insert USB with extracted firmware file of your choice named chituupgrade.bin on main directory of a USB(in fat32).

2.Use the usb it comes with or any other usbstick that flashes to let you know it’s working(trust me you want to know). It shouldn’t take over a minute though so if it doesn’t show you a green line on the screen under clueless ninjaboy reboot, try again it is likely your usb stick.

Also… I modded our firmware to add more connectivity features and added it to github if anyone is interested look up github xyzzyi Halot-mage-PRO-MSLA-mods
