Blobby melted marshmallow scan

I need help figuring out what’s wrong with my scans. The meshed result looks like I melted my model. It’s blobby like I built the model out of marshmallows. Objects that are near each other yet clearly separate are blended together. I have the scanner set to a medium model and high quality. The scanner is plugged directly into my Mac Pro so it runs very fast. I have the exposure perfect. No red or blue. My model has pieces with right angles. But the finished mesh doesn’t have a single right angle anywhere to be found.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Scanner: Ferret Pro

By the lack of feedback can I assume everyones scans come out perfect and I am the only one with an issue? Seriously, any help would be great. Thanks, Jax

Hello !

When I need to get the highest precision, I’m generally using “Low volume, high quality and marker mode”

However. The ferret pro has a precision of at most 0,1mm so it’s not surprising to get some “marshmallow surfaces”

Thank you Alex2Lab. I really appreciate your reply. You confirmed what I was thinking. It’s just like taking a picture in Lo-Res or taking a picture and Hi-Rez. I need a better scanner.
