Hello, I am getting blurry engraving whenever using the fill function within Design Space. I can use LightBurn and turn off bi-directional fill and the engraving looks awesome. Is there a feature within Design Space that allows for bi-directional fill to be turned off? I’ve made sure that my axis belts are tightened the same and that the laser head isn’t wobbly. I can’t see any debris or anything else inside the x-axis track either. This is a brand new unit, so I’m not sure what else to try to solve the issue besides just using LightBurn and turning off bi-directional fill. I’d like to be able to use bi-directional fill due to the time savings, but if this is how it has to be, then I guess I’ll deal. Thanks!
Okay, so, I did some digging and found some other resources that explained some ways to fix this. I made a test file with 10mmx10mm boxes and put each one on a different fill layer ranging from 100mm/min to 500mm/min at 100mm/min intervals, and then 1000mm/min to 6000mm/min at 1000mm/min intervals. Each one is set at 0.5mm line intervals (50.80 lines per inch).
I then adjusted the scanning offset by measuring the difference between the the line ends on the engraving and then placing half of that value into the “Scanning Offset Adjust” setting in the device settings.
Changing these settings made all of the difference in the world! Now, I no longer have blurry fill engravings, and everything looks crisp and clear. Hopefully this helps someone else out!
This is all in LightBurn as I can’t find a similar setting within Falcon Design Space. I really wanted FDS to be able to work so I didn’t have to purchase a LightBurn license, however it appears that it’s going to be necessary.
