Brand New K1 Max Heat Bed manufacturing fault - Please Help

Hi,

I am hoping someone could please offer some advice.

I’ve just brought my son his first 3D printer - K1 Max and having only just realised we can remove the heat plate we have noticed some damage on the bed itself. It’s basically where it has been knocked at some point and they painted it anyway.

It’s clearly happened before it was coated but I’m unsure if this will impact the print quality.

I have contacted creality who in turn told me to speak to the shop I purchased it from.

As it’s a present we want it to be right but also don’t want to return it if doesn’t impact the print quality

Hope someone can help

Thank you

Have you tried to print with it? I can’t see that ding doing too much, seeing as the build plate should cover that ding. Try printing something flat that will go over that part of the plate, if it works, then you can decide on what to do about it.

Personally, I would have Creality replace that part, or the whole printer if that is damage from the factory. Proving that will be hard though, but based on what I have seen, Creality is pretty good with customer service.

The magnetic sheet is not strong enough to pull the build plate into that tiny divet in the magnetic sheet.
