Brand new K1C fails the auto test!

Hi, my first post here although I have been 3D printing for a few years using the ender 3 pro and ender 3v2. Today I took delivery of a brand new K1C and with great anticipation set it up. I was really pleased with how it looks so eagerly switched it on! Entered the required details and set up the WiFi. All well so far, making sure I had removed the 3 screws and started the self test. 1st test tick, 2nd test tick 3rd test…… oops up comes ‘tips - abnormal heat brake fan read the instructions’ err what instructions? Pressed the report error button and got success fault reported etc. I am a very disappointed 73 year old after spending half a grand that does not work and can find nothing I can do to sort it!

Hello Les_Moyle and welcome.

Sometimes these issues are niggling Gremlins in the works and are very annoying.

Check all the usual things like all the connections, especially the fan connections, are secure. Make sure they haven’t become lose during use or in transit. Is the software for the printer up to date? Download the latest version form the Creality website. If all else fails, you can try a factory reset from the main menu. This quite often fixes most issues.

Hope you get sorted. I’m a young 66 year old and been 3D printing for about a year

Hi 2E0PWD, my all sign is 2E0MNZ. Thanks for the advice.

One additional item to check - make sure you switched the voltage selector switch to the appropriate voltage for your country - if in the US, you will need to switch it to 120V instead of 220V … that is one step that would make the self-test fail …

Hi all. Have been in contact with Creality, they gave me a few suggestions like unplugging the fan plug and then plugging it back testing for 24 volts checking cables etc. this is a brand new printer straight out of the box, and it doesn’t work, so it is going back and another one ordered. Thanks for your suggestions, let’s hope the next one works!
